I am sure a lot of you might know BCD Tofu, but for a better and more authentic taste, you should stop by Beverly Tofu House.  

Not to bash on BCD, I mean, I occasionally enjoy it for a late night snack, but I want to talk about a better alternative (taste-wise at least).

This place is a little small, so you might want to try to beat the meal rush if you plan on going.

Beverly Tofu House’s claim to fame is being the first made-to-order soon tofu spot in LA. They have been around for over 30 years, and have been running pretty strong.

They were featured on Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown, which is prominently displayed.

Their kalbi, or short ribs, were generously seasoned, just the way I like it.

What really makes them stand out is not just the quality of their ingredients, but the intensity and brilliance of their soup broth.  The tofu is only as good as how well prepared the broth is, and that is what separates them from the rest.
