Kimberly Loretta Buchanan was born to her parents, Winona and August Buchanan. Kimberly was their only daughter, as the two hadn't wanted children. Both were very successful surgeons. Both having barely anytime to spend among themselves, so a child was out of the question. But one night, on their third wedding anniversary they conceived their daughter. It was shock when Winona found out she was expecting, as her husband had recently gotten snipped. Meaning he wasn’t supposed to be able to have children. 

The two met when they were in college. Winona was actually dating his younger brother, Lionel. August was dating his high school sweetheart, Michelle.  The two had great chemistry, and after they ended their relationships. They got together, and lasted through College. Marriage was soon after, and the two moved to their small apartment. Working in their medical fields, and had a dog named Rover. Winona never wanted children, as her own mother was abusive to her. She feared she’d turn out the same. While, August hated children since he was a young teenager, as he had ten brother and sister. Which he cared for.
