Another sketch from our Honeymoon in Maui! This time it’s Honokōwai Beach Park in Lahaina. I wasn’t sure about how this sketch would turn out because it was the sketch that I got the least amount of “information” down on-site because it was raining. It’s got its issues, but I was able to capture the mood I felt in the moment and wanted to convey so I decided to share it. I’m also sharing a few Polaroids I took around Lahaina!

Vintage photos of my home town Lahaina, Hawaii. It's been 3 years since the devastating fire destroyed my home town. Front Street (the street itself) has reopened but there are no rebuilt buildings or businesses. The entire town was decimated, loss of life was tremendous, family homes held for generations are gone. Over 4,000 homes and businesses. 3 years later no businesses and only a handful of homes have been rebuilt. Despite the losses, the community, the people, and the spirit of Aloha remain strong. Help is still needed and appreciated.
