he   is   looking,   perhaps   for   the   first   time   in   his   life,   he   is   looking.   but   all   he   sees   is   the   red   of   slaughter       ⎯⎯     blood   around   the   mouth   and   eyes   as   red   as   the   crime.   sami   has   bled   plenty,   has   stained   countless   rings   and   arenas   and   backyard   ropes   tied   between   trees   red   in   his   desire   to   make   it   (   a   selfish   thing,   desire,   something   that   he   will   answer   for   in   due   time,   but   not   something   he   is   willing   to   face   right   now   )   god   willing,   he   will   bleed   for   this   too   and   call   it   another   form   of   desire.   something   equally   holy   as   it   is   wretched.   peace   be   upon   him,   but   he   is   not   the   him   in   the   mumble   of   humility,   no   matter   how   much   he   has   tried.

it shouldn't come as much of a shock that this is where miles has found himself . they've been spending a lot of time together , day in & day out . wherever miles goes , wade is never far behind . granted , that's usually migrating between miles's bed to the kitchen to the living room & circling back to the room at the end of the day . he doesn't really need a bodyguard anymore , there's never any real reason to leave the house . the idea of dismissing wade makes his chest feel tight though . he enjoys his company . miles thinks he's funny & unapologetically himself ; something miles strives to be .

they've had their moments — lingering stares , accidental touches , tension thick enough to be suffocating . miles isn't completely oblivious ; he knows something's between them . he knows he wants wade in a way he's too afraid to say aloud . this is new territory for him . his experience chalks up to a few shared kisses with other streamers at cons & never anything further . no solid relationships . he's the cliche loser who spends too much time on his video games to make time for those . something he's embarrassed to admit , especially to wade .

you , however , aren't entering with a phone in your hand , typing aggressively on the keyboard or holding it up for all your viewers to see how cool & #notliketheothers you are . no , you've got your hand wrapped tightly around the strap of your bag that hangs over your shoulder & you slip in & over to disappear behind a row of shelves . you don't want to be seen .

@lafayrie : "what… what happened to you?"

Shaggy yawned, jaw stretching wide and eyes squinting shut as he stretched his arms above his head. They came back down and one scratched fingers against the stubble on his jaw, other reaching for the joint that was in his pocket. He dug for it so much that for a moment he thought it wouldn't be there, but eventually he was producing the rolled weed with a smile to himself. He started to hum as he went to locate his lighter in his other pocket, voice filtering out with a mumble that sounded similar to the opening lyrics of mr. blue sky. He got as far as placing the joint between his lips and was about to light the end of it when he heard a near shriek from not far off.

" weed ? it's 9o'clock in the mornin' ! "

It made Shaggy jump, the tall figure bouncing against the half brick wall he'd been leaning into outside the path to the woods. His joint fell from his lips, hands quickly juggling to catch it to keep it from hitting the ground. He managed and looked up quick after grasping it in his hand, eyes landing on @lafayrie. He wasn't expecting to see Bellamy this morning or really anyone in this direction. It wasn't that he was hiding out to smoke or anything. He'd come to the tree line for Scrappy's sake. The puppy running amuck currently with Scoob trotting along after him in slower steps, but never far behind. He'd been watching them and was about to light up when his friend startled him. "Like, jeez, man," Shaggy's voice cracked as he lifted a hand to push at his locks, fixing them away from his face, "Scare a guy why don't ya?" He looked at the other, paused, and then lifted the joint with a little nod towards him, "This is just the appetizer to the second breakfast we're going to get soon." He grinned and lifted the lighter next the joint, "You want the first hit?"
