Laethil to Kelothac:
Drow hate surface elves, which may explain Kelothac's bad attitude towards Laethil. But should Laethil tolerate this since it's part of drow culture? I don't think he should. Besides, he couldn't physically harm Kelothac. At the same time, Laethil's plan was definitely not to make Kelothac an evil deity, who will destroy the world. Everyone always forgets that. And twists the facts as they please.
Now, those who want Laethil dead have decided to take a different approach, claiming that Kelothac needs to be saved, which means Laethil must die.
But:
• Why do people think Kelothac was ever good? He’s a drow. Who are often not implied to be the ones who are the good guys. Besides, he is a drow who abused Laethil. The hag’s line about this, if I remember correctly, was similar to what was said in BG3 about a wizard who abused his apprentice.
• Why does BatD need to choose who to save if Kelothac wasn’t evil? Can’t they try to save both?
• Why do people even think that Kelothac, who knew about the prophecy and was actively seeking it, wasn’t trying to become a deity himself? Maybe he’s content with the fact that he’s now a god of revenge (or in this non-classical D&D the dark lord, but in fact it is the one who has the functions of a deity) and doesn’t need to be same as before .
In the meantime, there’s still an option to save Laethil and leave Kelothac (Lako'thec) as he is or make it the same as he was before (I doubt he'll even want to). Any decision can be made without the need for either of them to die.
P.S. And yes, they might even try to persuade the hag to break the pact. I’m not sure how they would manage that, though. But who knows what they could come up with. In any case, it's still a possibility.
Maybe I'm not so good at drawing, but I want to see more content about the characters that I like. Fanfiction, fanart, anything. And since it is almost non-existent here I must post this. Laethil and Kelothac (whose hand is visible here)

Barabun/Laethil
okay listen.
today I was talking with my friend and she told me: it's interesting to watch this ship from the point of view that now baradun KNOWS how it feels to study magic from the first levels. After all, there is a very good reason for the ladder from enemies to lovers
And you know what? I can't stop thinking about it. I like to think about how slowly Laethil's envy developed, which stifled and got worse every year. After all, everything was so terribly easy for Baradun. But now. They can both understand each other.
