The Gods were cruel.....
Where were they when it all turned sour? Where were they when the Rains of Castemere started to play?
Clearly they were not watching when the arrows started to fly soon after the music played, one hitting Robb in the back, one in her aunt Catelyn and then she had cried out when an arrow pierced through her own shoulder. How she wished she had her blades on her in order to fight. Instead, she had been caught and forced to watch Roose Bolton stab Robb in the heart and then, in sheer horror, as her aunt killed Jinglebell before her own throat was slashed, and Mara prayed for her own end. It didn’t happen. Instead, she was thrown into a room, beaten, tortured and abused in many means bar from the treatment of her wound and getting some food and drink a day. She never told them anything, but Black Walder Frey enjoyed her a great deal, taking her maidenhood and then using her as much as he pleased. At least the Gods were kind in that she didn’t become with child.
One night though, she found her room had not been locked so she took her chance, using one of the guards’ swords to kill anything in her way till she found where her own swords, knives, bow and arrows were held and slipped them onto her person along with a cloak, fighting her way out till she mounted her beloved Starlight and rode out with one a halter and a blanket on her mount’s back, not looking back.
She didn’t know how long she had ridden for but she felt weak, sick..... Her skin felt hot but she in herself felt cold as she shivered, her horse slowing down as Star felt her friend weaken before Samara fell off. Star whinnied in shock as she nudged Samara to try to wake her before she pulled off her blanket and draped it over her, kneeling down to lie beside her to add her heat to the girl before letting out a loud bellow for help.
