Boardwalk Empire - Modern!AU Charlie eventually comes around after initially not supporting Meyer’s dream of opening up an interpretive dance school.
"So I come here, you hide whatever's going on from me, slice me, and now we're here," Thomson says, crossing his arms in front of him. "I think it's best we dissolve our partnership, boys." Meyer sighs. "I was hoping you would be more reasonable, Mr. Thomson." Thomson turns to look at him, Meyer smiles, and then his hand flashes out from his coat and up at Thomson's chin. He's exchanged the knife for a switch, and has the handle clutched in his fist to make it hit harder. Thomson flinches away.
*SCREAMING*
"You ever had anyone stay with you, Nuck?" Charlie likes the way that last sound feels on his tongue, Arnalt bets. And he only makes good bets. He's grinning, Charlie, with his teeth all bare and his eyes wide and clearly having a wonderful time. It's the kind of grin that Charlie could wear while tearing someone to pieces. Arnalt's not sure how he feels about it. It works here, but it'll get a bit redundant. If there's ever actual information gathering of the harsher kind to be done, he means.
