Sean saw the new year with his friends at the pot farm. It took some getting used to, celebrating these holidays without his father. New Year’s Eve was one of Esteban’s favorites, he’d invite all his friends over and grill and drink, despite it being the dead end of the year, and when Sean was a kid Esteban would twirl Karen around the living room and kiss her long and hard to ring in the new year. But for now, it’s just the family, listening to the ball drop countdown around the campfire and going to sleep drunk next to his brother.

Then February came and so did Natalia. Sean was one of the last people to know of her arrival, as she set up her tent on the opposite end of his tent and the rest of the pot farm family took to introducing themselves to her first. He had a bad habit of sleeping in anyway, so it is when he stumbles towards the kitchen to pour himself a cup of coffee that Penny catches his attention. “Hey, lobo, did you say hello to the new girl yet?”  

He had specifically waited for the hall to clear out before he made his way toward the front of the school where May was coming to pick him up after the incident. Peter knew he couldn’t fight back when he wanted - it was too risky. And when Flash actually hit him for the first time in the face - he was left with a black eye, a cut lip and bruised up jaw. He’d tried to keep it concealed with his hand while rushing to his locker, and then toward the front of the school, except he had to back into someone directly. ❛ Shit, I’m so sorry. ❜

SOMETHING  ABOUT  THIS  beanie  -  wearing  fellow  in  front  of  him  seemed  familiar  .  the  king  of  the  school  was  meant  to  know  each  and  every  student  in  the  school  ,  but  who  had  time  for  that  ?  

He ducked around the corner---not seeing her there at first, breath coming in shallow stabs as he leaned back against the building; open palms braced against its gritty surface. Then his eyes flickered open again---and he noticed her.

It was suspicious, not only had he followed her before, but he still didn't know what was up. Without his suit, he made his way ( though it was obvious ) behind her from a far distance. It was after school and he'd figured enough was enough, though running into the janitor didn't help any.

Waking up to the sounds of birds chirping and light traffic outside, he slowly opened his eyes and observed his surroundings through a squinted gaze. This wasn’t his apartment. He was on a couch, still in the clothes he wore yesterday that smelled of booze and god knows what else. He sat up slowly and felt the pain in his neck from his awkward sleeping position. It took him a minute or two to recognize that he was in his neighbor’s place. Soon as they stepped into view, he looked at them confused and groggy. “How the hell did I end up here last night?”
