Which style would you chose for the lace appliqué placement on the back of this wedding dress? This was one of the final decisions Abby S. had to make for #FleurDeMeCustomBridal. One mock up shows peaked appliqué reaching towards the shoulder blade and the other mock up was appliqué descending towards the center back at the waistline. #Weddingdress how-to continued from last post! Every fabric I used had stretch to it. -nude nylon chiffon for the top (@tutu.comofficial) -tricot white nylon chiffon for the skirt's top layer (@fabricdotcom) -stretch silk charmeuse for the nude skirt layer (@moodfabrics) -stretch lining for under the charmeuse -iron-on interfacing - @dreamtimecreations for Swarovski crystals (10mm size is the better choice) -@lacetoloveofficial and Etsy for lace appliques I had to pin the appliques while I was wearing the dress because when I did it on the body form, it would lay differently when I wore it. 😣 The back took the longest. I couldn't ask my husband to pin it for me as it would ruin the surprise! The train's #laceapplique was the easiest, but was also tedious. Cutting around the lace took so long! Then transfered it to the nylon train, and sewed it with clear thread. Crystals are always the fun part! I suggest using size 10mm or less. The more delicate, the prettier it looks. Something I did not consider is that it's super dry in AZ, and it was wet in #Canada. The mesh fabric expanded in moisture, so it ended up being a little loose on me. Not the look I was going for as I wanted it to look like 2nd skin, but the #wedding dress is beautiful overall! I was delighted with how it turned out, specially with it being my first #gown! I couldn't have done it without @thecoalitionforfashion 's help with the pattern!
