Derrick looked around the strange environment around himself, "that was possibly the weirdest thing I've ever seen."
Alice overheard him as she walked down the forest path. She quickly glanced in his direction, just in time to catch a dragonfly flitting off into the trees. This confused the girl, who wasn’t at all startled by the creature. Dozens of them resided in Tulgey Wood - they made their homes in blackberry bushes, feeding on whatever smaller insects were unfortunate enough to cross their path.
She shook her head at the boy, a small frown crossing her face. Petals fell from the flower crown nestled in her hair. “I beg your pardon, but haven’t you seen a dragonfly before? They’re rather common, after all.” She paused, stepping forward and looking him over more thoroughly. “Are you alright? You ought to be more careful. They breathe fire if you swat at them, and you’d be in an awful lot of pain if you were stung by its tail.”
