This is an article on fight against the ABCC by Australian Union which I wrote for the US Union Reform journal Labor Notes. It was aimed at inform a US union audience of the nature of the attacks particularly in a context where government intervention against corrupt and criminal practices in an industry has been viewed positively amongst progressive unionists - the article explains that the tough cop for a tough industry rhetoric that has been used by both the Coalition and ALP to the ABCC it's various incarnations had nothing to with combating corruption in the construction industry and had everything with limiting the rights of workers and their unions.
