Now who was he. She? He stared down. Nope, he. “Manageable.” The world was dark around him as a single set of two words spun around him, rotating before becoming blinding. When he opened his eyes, he found himself in an alley. Nyx - Oathkeeper.
Take a deep breath. Find out where you are. Try and fit in. He turned to the nearest puddle to look at his reflection. Gaunt, but sincere. Tanned, a strong jaw, curly black hair. Hm.
That had been some time ago, ‘Nyx’ mused. His ID read ‘Vincent Winters’ when he looked at it, so that was what he had been introducing himself as. There wasn’t much work, but he found himself carrying about five bags of cotton candy in paper cones up a flight of stairs. Trying not to mind the stares (they never did stop staring, did they?), he dipped his head in thank you as someone held the door open for him. “Excuse me,” he replied fluently in the foreign tongue as he passed by someone, ignoring the stare.
Shit, he really did look like a stereotypical foreigner, didn’t he? With a tired, amused sigh, he shook his head and meandered this way and that. This certainly wasn’t his first time at KAIST, but it was his first time delivering cotton candy. It was sprawling. Gulping a bit, he dipped down a set of stairs before finally reaching his destination, knocking gently on the door twice.
“Excuse me, Ms. Helen Cho? Delivery~!” An easy, but restrained smile was on the young adult’s face, voice still carrying some level of cheer. Big smiles were no good here, that had been a harsh lesson. He still remembered a few individuals escorting him out for being a ‘suspicious character’ and getting saved by a passing professor for whom he had delivered the man’s favorite late night snack. Hopefully no one would think him too suspicious this time...
