Hi! Welcome to my Tumblr and I hope you like some of my funky artwork. I’m just a random woman in my 20’s who’s trying to navigate the world and be creative in the process.

I’d like to share my tried and true method (that I randomly made up) for making some art. Listen 2 Garbage Make Garbage. It’s pretty self explanatory but still. My favorite artsy thing to do is to just put on some headphones, randomly shuffle the entirety of my liked music playlist (or literally listen to the band Garbage and shuffle that), and make whatever random garbage that spews out of my hands. You can even listen to music you don’t like or that you’ve never heard of! It might inspire you a bit during the process. I don’t ever think about my art beforehand. I just pick some colors and get going with any mediums I want.

I LOVE finger painting so 99% of the time I do that. Usually making abstract art but maybe i’ll draw some stuff or add stickers on top who knows. You can literally just scribble whatever if you want. I swear if you pick a good color palette (you can find any online or just pick your own like I do) it’ll probably look good. If not, then that’s ok cause you still made some garbage which is part of the end goal! If it looks cute that’s just a bonus! The actual end goal is to create instead of just constantly consuming things.

I’ve always had the issue of comparing my art to other people’s and that’s bad. Yes you can make all the art inspo Pinterest boards and watch as much Youtube and short form content that you want but at the end of the day being an artist is making art. Obviously my method is just one of the many out there and I don’t care if anyone but me uses it, but if you want to then maybe you can repost this and use the hashtag #L2GMG which is gonna be this account’s main tag. Idk I just think it would be fun and could help someone if they’re completely uninspired and struggle to not micromanage their own artistic process (because of social media having such high standards for art nowadays and the whole ai thing). Obviously if you do make the kind of art that’s so popular right now i’m not trying to hate; in fact for example I love the cute ocs people make wearing different fashion subcultures and stuff like that on social media lately. Just remember that “ugly” or messy art has a place in the world and there doesn’t need to be any shame in it especially if you’re a beginner! You never have to be “good” at art to post it. Seriously, haters hate even if you do make the best art so GO AHEAD AND POST THAT TERRIBLE DRAWING OF A HORSE YOU JUST MADE! (if you want to post ofc)

So yeah that’s all I wanted to say in this post. Hopefully this account can be a shred of motivation for someone to try some new kind of art or finally make the art they’ve always felt like they couldn’t without being made fun of. This is a positive space for creativity and a reflection of the messiness of life and the world at large.
