Okay, lets try again. As you will probably know by now I have already attempted to write and upload this post previously but stuff seriously went wrong and I'm not the most tech-smart witch ever so I'm just trying again.

I’ve always known that L-rods are a pretty unusual tool in the witchy community but recently I have discovered just how rare, with many people asking me what they are and how they work. Although they are really simple to use and pretty traditional, they just seem to be new and confusing to many witches both new and more experienced than I am. As a result of this I’m making a little post covering the basics (again).

What are they?

L-rods are pretty simple looking. A thin metal rod in the shape of an L, they have a sheet of metal wrapped around the shorter end for the handle. They come in pairs typically but you can use them one t the time or together depending on your preferences or what you think will work better for what you’re using them for. They can be used for divination or dowsing.

One rod questions.

For questions you feel only needs one rod to answer choose your rod and hold it by the shorter end (handle) and ask it simple questions you know the answer to (eg am I in my bedroom?) this will allow you to determine the way the rod turns for each answer. Also ask it to show you each of these answers, ready for a question and uncertain.

Now you can answer your question, make sure its clear what you’re asking and you thank the energies after you receive an answer.

Two rod questions.

To use two rods you need to hold them by the handles, one in each hand, and keep your arms level and parallel, having your elbows tucked into your sides is the easiest way to ensure this. You must ask them to show you ready for a question, yes, no and unsure. For many L-rods they cross for yes, move apart for no, are parallel for ready and random for unsure but don’t assume that's how your rods and energies around you are programmed. You can also ask simple questions you know the answer to.

Now you can answer your question, make sure its clear what you’re asking and you thank the energies after you receive an answer.

Finding things.

I am going to make a whole post on dowsing and finding lost objects but simply, using two rods, they will swing closer together the closer you get to the object you’re looking for and swing apart the further you get. Make sure you repeat the question (”Where is X”) either aloud or in your mind.

ok so there have been a lot of people asking me wtf L-rods are and I just wanna put this here.

L-rod readings are a type of divination like pendulum but with one or two L-rods. Just like pendulum they can also be used for dousing. Every reader use the rods differently but for me it is the strongest type of divination I have used yet.

Basically these two rods cross for yes and move away for no in two rod readings.

In one rod readings it might swing one way or another or turn clockwise or anti clockwise.

When I use L-rods I feel more connected to the energies I ask, therefore I can often read the energy and decode it like tarot or bibliomancy although this does not happen for some.
