I'm so glad to see you're not one of the people shitting on BATB! It was such a wonderful movie and it bugs me that the people who hate on it haven't even seen it :(
It was an incredible movie. I absolutely loved it, a complete pick-me-up that made me believe in movie magic again. Yes it had some awkward moments in it, but it was so well-made, the costumes and sets were lovely. And as someone who watches films and can be a bit of a plot-hole nitpicker it really fixed A LOT of small mistakes of the original...
I can’t even watch the original anymore without hating how we don’t get the LeFou we see in the new one. Personality wise every character was just much more charming and the actors brought so much to it.
And I adore the backstories added and the new songs.
I wouldn’t worry over those people though, if they haven’t seen it then they are the ones missing out from a magical and enjoyable time.
Honestly though I loved it so much and especially with a bad emotional week that’s been going on, it did bring a little light and escapism so yes the live-action has a special place in my heart.
