i think that her parents are like, fairly normal as far as parents go in the world of naruto, and also that this sucks badly. in my head her dad is just distant and doesn't have a real relationship with her, and her mom is over-involved and pushes an ideal future onto her that's actually just not good. the dieting + obsession with marriage? learned it from mommy! free her. i think it's cute that she wishes she was an orphan and i appreciate that this desire only seems to grow stronger as she gets older. perhaps exposure to parental-ish figures who don't force her into a box helps ? although yeah we should not be giving much credit to kakashi or tsunade. especially kakashi. i think tsunade's relationship with sakura is probably one of her most normal, actually, like of course it's fucked in interesting ways by default of tsunade and shizune being involved with training her, but like, towards sakura specifically, tsunade is fairly normal. i think most of the weirdness is from shizune's jealousy.... cute. um anyways. i think that sakura has very complicated feelings towards her parents made worse by the fact that none of her peers can really relate. even the non-orphan ones. because the stifling lack of agency is very different from the mistreatement any shinobi clan kid would get. she's lonely :(
