Kurhaus, Wiesbaden, Germany
By Jochen Hertweck
Hanno’s new film “Die Saat” (The Seed) is featured in Berlinale’s “Perspektive Deutsches Kino” (Perspective German Cinema) category. Same as “Freier Fall” in 2013.
Kurhaus Productions producer, Christoph Holthof, recalls the good experience they had with Freier Fall under this non-competitive category:
“‘Freier Fall’ was sold in many regions of the world at that time, the distributors have put it in cinemas, at festivals and on streaming services. Among other things, it has made a big impact in the USA and South America. The US distributor's international trailer has 22 million views - that's the size of big blockbusters. Max Riemelt, with whom we also made the film “Kopfplatzen” in 2019, is still being talked about in relation to ‘Freier Fall’ in our US market today.” (taken from this interview)
Note: Hanno’s new film looks pretty good (I believe the director, Mia Meyer, is his wife and Hanno has co-written the script)
