-How did you become involved with the Life is Strange fandom?
I discovered LiS from a recommendation from a friend shortly after episode 2 was released. I dived in pretty blindly and fell in love instantly after playing the first episode. I just loved the atmosphere, the characters and the sense of mystery and it glued me in.
-How do you feel about Life is Strange? Favorite episodes, characters, moments? Anything that you didn’t like?
GOD HONESTLY. I CAN’T EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS GAME?? ?? LiS has had a huge impact on my life and has given me so much drive to draw again. I absolutely love all the female characters. Max and Chloe probably being my very favorites since they both have so much character and love for eachother. -How did you get involved with the Love is Strange project?
I was part of the very first discussion of making LISVN! TBH I WAS READY TO TAKE ON ALL THE ARTIST JOBS but soon realized i can’t even complete a set of sprites without dying.
-Tell us about your role on the team as an artist, and what specific task(s) you are assigned to.
My job was to create the sprites for each character with different expressions to compliment the scenes of the game! I just included one journal sketch cos i had to place amberpricefield in there somewhere.
-Which characters or scenes are easiest for you to illustrate? Which are the hardest?
I think all of them we’re challenging at first but as soon as i got the hang of how i wanted them to look, it got a lot easier. DON’T GET ME STARTED HOW MANY TIMES I’VE REDONE MAX AND CHLOE!! I don’t know why they were so tough but i had such a hard time with illustrating how i envisioned them. I also thought Victoria was pretty tough (probably cos i have drawn her the least but victoria voice: there will be another) But in the end i think i successfully perfected her besides all the anatomy errors. [cries a little inside] I think kate blessed me by not struggling to paint her cos i ended up doing her last. Ty kate ilu… 🙏
-Did you encounter any challenges while working on the art for the VN?
YES YEYSYES anatomy, poses, posture, gestures are all so challenging for me! I have learned and improved SO MUCH after completing all 56 sprites and i still wish i could improve them! I was constantly face lifting them and editing them to make them the best i could.
-What sort of emotions do you hope to evoke from players with your art?
AAAA I just hope everyone smiles and can get a laugh from some of the expressions!
-What kind of personal touches did you add to your art?
I guess like a touch of my own style? I wanted them to be realistic but more expressive. Also you can look out for the meme references, kate bless.
-What is your favorite LISVN meme
All of them are my favorite ESPECIALLY CRYING RACHEL
