Kuroshitpost AU: Bunnies and Demons
(au tag for blacklist: kspdm)
I need to have something funny to make jokes about on the side to ensure Paved With Malicious Intent doesn't burn me out, an idea that doesn't need to have that much thought into it. This has horrible use of tenses and is complete nonsense; I do better when actually writing fanfiction (and having it beta read lol)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's an AU where Sebastian originates from D&D's Nine Hells mixed with 1) the Baldur's Gate 3 AU I have with my actual D&D character, which shares mostly the same story as my campaign PC just with some "minor" changes and, 2) the ideas I have joked around with my DM about about post campaign/level 20+ chaos
So in this Sebastian actually ran away from the Nine Hells by escaping via Sigil, which is how he became a demon in the Black Butler universe. He didn't run away from his duties... not exactly. But after Zariel was killed by a group of adventurers, given he was once a powerful general, he fled to avoid death.
He likes this dimension. Humans here are so much weaker, and there's little magic to stop him. Most importantly, the rabbits. All rabbits are weak, none are very big, and if he wanted to he could easily kill them. Sebastian will never have to witness a literal Archdevil, one who was very powerful (26 CR), be eaten alive by a big ass rabbit ever again!
Everything is so peaceful. He's got a good contract with an angry Victorian boy, the mystery he is helping to solve is fun, the humans around him... are interesting enough to not slaughter. Everything is okay.
Until that day. Oh, may the gods of every universe, every multiverse, pity him! To hear the Lady of Pain's voice... what cursed luck!
"Get out of my labyrinth, it is meant to be punishment, not a vacation! Why can't you just die and leave me in peace? Stay here, you cretin."
Thunk. Something was moving around the manor. What thing had been sent here? By the Lady of Pain herself?
Sebastian would need to rid the manor if it. He searches and searches and finds himself enraged he cannot find whoever is now in the manor. Morningstar damn them! This makes no sense, he should be able to sense their soul at the very least! Perhaps this was just a bad dream...
"Oh, my apologies. I didn't mean to break into your home."
No. No no no no no, not that voice, not that mother fucking voice.
There, on the exact kitchen table Sebastian had been staring at for the past five minutes, was a 3 foot tall rabbit with far more powerful gear than he last saw the Harengon wearing. Mercifully, the creature doesn't some to recognize him. Sebastian forces a smile, saying he didn't expect an Easter Bunny.
Dunno, my PC, looks at him confused. The fuck is an Easter Bunny? And why does this stranger smell of infernal magics? Sebastian is politely suggesting, def not pleading, for the rabbit to leave. Please. Please fucking leave I do not want to mess with you, I know what you have accomplished since I left and it frightens me.
Somehow Sebastian is able to explain to Dunno that he is in a different universe. There is no way to explain a 3 foot tall anthropomorphic hare—who has four sets of horns, a set of large raven wings, the teeth and similar jaw to a crocodile, a unicorn tail, and has become a literal god—to his young master. Please fucking change.
So Dunno uses his Mask of Many Faces to take on a human appearance but it doesn't fix all the oddities about him. Since Dunno won't leave, Sebastian is stuck trying to figure out how to not technically lie to hide what Dunno is and about his source of existence.
It's just a slapstick universe where Sebastian suffers the chaos of a fucking Archfey / genuine God of the Dead/of Death/of Undead.
