It was rather late when he got home, later than usually, after all there was not much he could do most of the time.

But somehow he had been away most of the evening and night, had hoped Maverick was already sleeping when he got home but.. well his luck had probably run out.

The words were spoken with a sad smile on his lips, guilty even before he forced it into his usually brightly smiling mask.

His hand was pushed into his trouser pockets and he pulled out a lot of crumbled bills.
