While I'm still not sold on the idea of seahorse pregnancy.

I'm completely on board with a sympathetic pregnancy. Bruce gets pregnant and somehow it's Clark is the one suffering from morning sickness, he's the one who cannot stomach anything, he's craving more and more harmful substances like metal and lead.

After suffering from these symptoms for weeks Bruce finally has enough and orders him to take them to the fortress, where they find out that if a couple has completed the kryptonian mating rituals before getting pregnant, it is the male(sire) that will suffer from the symptoms of pregnancy.

And obviously Clark and Bruce have mated and sealed their bonds through kryptonian rituals already and while Clark is dreading the next few months he is happy that Bruce won't have to suffer from such things.

The happiness doesn't really last because the symptoms are abhorrent and as someone who has never felt pain or fatigue for such long periods, Clark is absolutely miserable. He's crying everyday, his cravings get worse, he develops aches all over his body especially his pelvis and he does not handle it well he's mostly overdramatic.

Bruce, on the other hand, is glowing like actually glowing, his skin has taken up a strange golden shimmer and he looks 10x more beautiful than normal, his hair has grown thicker and his scars are healing at an insane speed (for humans), it's like most of the pain his body has carried for decades has suddenly vanished and he's never felt this rejuvenated before. He's also in such a great mood most of the time.

He really feels bad for Clark, really, and tries to help him as much as he can but he cannot help but enjoy his new condition to the fullest.

Fortunately for Clark the symptoms do ease down towards the last months.

Clark, Conner, Bizarro, Chris, Kara, and Krypto don’t actually need to eat. They can and do eat, and they enjoy it, but they could survive by being fueled on sunlight alone.

“Well, that’s a really tough question. It’s a good one though! I guess the simplest answer is that I’ve had and have help. When I first came to Earth, I had spent what was roughly the equivalent of a decade of Earth’s years on Krypton. Unlike my cousin, Kal-el, I hadn’t grown up with a yellow sun, gradually learning to control even a portion of the powers I would have. I was hit with it nearly all at once. It was terrifying! I can’t even describe what it’s like to look up because Alex was calling my name and instead of seeing her, I see her skeleton and organs! It still gives me goosebumps! And don’t get me wrong. Kal still struggles with Sensory Overload. We both do. But Jeremiah Danvers, my stepfather, gave me these glasses that he made that are lined with lead to help lower the sensitivity of my vision and are able to tamp down on my hearing a little too. It helps immensely. Of course, the glasses can only do so much, and when things get overwhelming with or without them, there’s a few things that I’ve learned to help cope with the more difficult times.

“The first thing I try to do is find an anchor. Something I can focus on while shutting everything else out. A lot of times it’s a friend’s heartbeat or voice. Winn doesn’t know this, but I’ve used his heartbeat more times than I can count when I’m struggling to focus. But if that doesn’t work, Kal has taught me to fly up straight to very edges of Earth’s atmosphere. It’s much quieter up there and I can shut my eyes and re-center myself with the added benefit of soaking up Sol’s rays while I’m at it! Thank Rao for my family and my friends though! It’s not the easiest thing to bail on life just to go hide halfway into outer space! As for the rest of the time, it’s just me tuning everything else out. Like normal people tune out their air conditioner humming away. You know it’s there. You still hear it, but you aren’t focusing on it… until it starts making a sound it’s never made before. That’s what gets reactions out of my cousin and I. The out of place sounds, scents, and sights. Unless we’re focusing on something specific.
