SZABĂ KRISTĂF aka KristofLAB - kĂ©pzĆmƱvĂ©sz, mĂ©diamƱvĂ©sz/artist, media artist
Szereti piszkĂĄlni a dolgokat, ha ĂșjjĂĄszĂŒlethetne, szĂvesen bĂșjna James Turrell bĆrĂ©be, gyƱjti a technikai kĂŒtyĂŒket, most Ă©ppen a paradicsom palĂĄntĂĄja a kedvence, nagyon nehĂ©z vele nyaralni, fĆleg egy olyan helyen, ahol csak pihenni lehet.
He likes to eff around with things if he could reincarnate he would be James Turrell. he collects tech gadgets, at the moment his tomato plant is his favorite, it is very hard to gon on a holiday with him, especially to a place where you go to relax and chill.

Milyen tĂpusĂș emlĂ©kek inspirĂĄlnak jobban: a jĂłk vagy a rosszak?/What kind of memories inspire you the most? The good or the bad ones? A munkĂĄimmal mindig valami problĂ©mĂĄra prĂłbĂĄlom felhĂvni a figyelmet, Ăgy inkĂĄbb Ășgy fogalmaznĂ©k: a jĂł emlĂ©kek inspirĂĄlnak, a rosszak pedig elgondolkodtatnak Ă©s hoznak lĂ©tre Ășjabb Ă©s Ășjabb teremtĆ gondolatokat.
Mostly the good ones, but if we think about the portrayal of the panel buildings in my painting, living there was not a flawless experience. I am keen on to raise awareness to a problem in my work, so I would like to phrase my answer this way: I am inspired by good memories, while the bad ones make me think and create new creative thoughts.
If you could reincarnate in a living or dead artist, who would you choose to be? James Turrell.
James Turrell. He could buy a mountain in the desert and made an installation out of it.
Hogyan lendĂŒlsz tĂșl az idĆszakos alkotĂłi vĂĄlsĂĄgon?/How do you overcome an artistic crisis? Sok egyĂ©b mĂĄs kreatĂv munkĂĄm van, Ăgy ha Ă©ppen "eltĂ©vednĂ©k" valamelyikben, a többivel tudok foglalkozni. AztĂĄn egy kis idĆ utĂĄn valahogy Ășgyis megtalĂĄlom a kiutat.
I have many other creative projects going on so if I âget lostâ in one of them, there are others to keep me occupied. Then after a while, I find a way out of it anyway.
Kinek mutatod meg elĆször a legĂșjabb alkotĂĄsodat?/Who sees your work first? Sokszor az Instagram napi story-jĂĄban lĂĄthatĂł az, ahogy az Ășj munkĂĄimon dolgozok. De mindig meg szoktam mutatni a barĂĄtnĆmnek, Sibitka Panninak, Ă©s mĂ©g egy-egy barĂĄtnak, akiknek bĂzok a vĂ©lemĂ©nyĂ©ben.
Often I upload it into the Instagram Story as I work on my new projects. But I always show it to my girlfriend, Sibitka Panni and to some other friends whoâs opinion I can rely on.
Mi a legkedvesebb gyerekkori emlĂ©ked?/What is your favorite childhood memory? HĂș... szerettem a parkban csĂĄszkĂĄlni, meg a jĂĄtszĂłtĂ©ren, na meg csĂșszda, hinta Ă©s bicajozĂĄs.
Well... I liked to stroll around the park, and on the playground, and the slide, the swing, and to ride my bike.
Mit Ă©rzel, amikor egy mĂĄsik mƱvĂ©sz a tiĂ©dhez hasonlĂł munkĂĄt kĂ©szĂt?/What or how do you feel when someone does something similar to your work? Nekem is hasonlĂłak a gondolataim errĆl.
I think itâs great if there is another artist inspired by the same thoughts. I assume the impressionists were very pleased to stand up against the actual trends together at the time.
What would you like to be remembered by? JĂł lenne, ha valamelyik munkĂĄmrĂłl.
It would be nice to be remembered by one of my works.
GyƱjtesz valamit?/Are you collecting something?
Tech gadgets, but not out of control. It would be too expensive.
Van olyan gyerekes szokĂĄsod, amit akkor csinĂĄlsz, amikor senki nem figyel?/Do you have a childish habit that you do when no one is watching? Szeretem piszkĂĄlni a dolgokat. Elkezdek valami tĂĄrgyat piszkĂĄlni tologatni, mintha mĂ©g âautĂłznĂ©kâ :D
I like to eff with things. I start to nag an object, push and pull it around like I was playing with a toy car. :D
Mi volt a legnagyobb ĆrĂŒltsĂ©g, amit eddig csinĂĄltĂĄl?/What was the craziest thing you have ever done? Na, azt lehet nem mondom el :D
I will not tell you that. :D
Van-e napi rutinod?/Do you have a daily routine?
I donât really have a routine, I like if nothing is repetitive, this is why itâs great that I donât have to go to work on a certain time every day.
Kedvenc tĂĄrgyad?/Favorite object? Most a paradicsom palĂĄntĂĄm. Nagyon finom a hĂĄzi koktĂ©l paradicsom. Igaz, a palĂĄnta nem tĂĄrgy. A könyvespolcomat is csĂpem.
Right now itâs my tomato plant. Homegrown cherry tomatoes taste so good. However, a plant is not an object. I like my bookcase a lot as well.
Hogyan fogsz neki egy Ășj munkĂĄnak?/How do you get started on a new project? ElĆször magĂĄnak az ötletnek kell megszĂŒletnie. UtĂĄna, ha festmĂ©nyrĆl van szĂł, akkor kellenek a megfelelĆ fotĂłk, kiindulĂł pontok Ă©s azokat kell ĂĄttranszformĂĄlnom olyannĂĄ, amit lĂ©tre szeretnĂ©k hozni. Ez mindig gĂ©pen törtĂ©nik. A munkĂĄim kĂ©szĂtĂ©sĂ©nĂ©l, a programok Ă©s maga a hardver mindig egy megelĆzĆ pont, vagy olykor maga a munkafolyamat rĂ©sze is, ha valami new media artâot szeretnĂ©k Ă©ppen kĂ©szĂteni. VĂ©gsĆ fĂĄzisban festek vagy installĂĄlom a munkĂĄt a helyszĂnre.
First, the idea itself has to be born. After, if it is a painting, I need the specific photos, starting points and I have to transform these into what I want to create. This always happens on the computer. During my working process programs and hardware is always a pre-point, or sometimes also part of the process, if I want to make a new media-art. In the final phase, I paint or install the work at the location.
Van egy jĂłl körĂŒlhatĂĄrolhatĂł hangulat, amikor könnyebb szĂĄmodra az alkotĂĄs?/Is there a specific mood that makes creating easier for you?
In the studio, this is a given. This is why I chose AQB (ArtQuaterBudapest), whenever I go out there, there is nothing to distract me - itâs in a very calm location, I am alone, nobody bothers me. Moreover, itâs quiet, spacious and I would have the chance to walk around Budafok if I wanted to.
Sör vagy bor?/Beer or wine?
Rather beer. I never had to be so disappointed with beer, but wine! Oh, how many times have I drank expensive yet awful wine spritz.
Kutya vagy macska?/Dog or cat?
The cat because itâs not shadowing you. However, we only had dogs up until now, and still have in GyĆr, but a cat is way smaller and cuter.
Mit szeretnĂ©l kifejezni az alkotĂĄsaidon keresztĂŒl?/What would you like to express through your artwork? MunkĂĄim fĆleg kĂ©t meghatĂĄrozĂł tĂ©mĂĄt jĂĄrnak körĂŒl, melyeknek alapköve az ember: a szemĂ©ly identitĂĄsĂĄval Ă©s annak lakĂłkörnyezetĂ©vel foglalkozik.
My works are mainly revolving around two topics with the man being the epicenter: my works deal with the identity of the person and their living environment. The questions surrounding these topics are based on social sensitivity. They deal with topics like alienation, distortion of self-image, ecological problems.
I wasnât able to choose yet, but Budapest is among my favorites as well, but I wouldnât mind living in Paris or Berlin for a  while.
Hol leszel 10 Ă©v mĂșlva?/Where will you be in 10 years? RemĂ©lem, egy sajĂĄt lakĂĄsban :D SzeretnĂ©m, ha 10 Ă©v mĂșlva mĂĄr nemzetközi kiĂĄllĂtĂĄsokon szerepelhetnĂ©k, szeretek utazni Ă©s mĂĄs kultĂșrĂĄkat, vĂĄrosokat, embereket megismerni.
I hope in my own apartment :D I would like my work to be exhibited at international exhibitions, I love to travel and to get to know new cultures, cities, and people.
Kedvenc étel?/Favorite food? Szeretek mindent, amin van paradicsom.
I love everything with tomatoes on it.
Kedvenc Ă©vszak?/Favorite season? A tavasz Ă©s a nyĂĄr, amikor mĂĄr kellemes az idĆ Ă©s egyre több a napsĂŒtĂ©s.
Spring and summer, when the weather is nice and there is more sunshine.
Mi a legrosszabb tulajdonsĂĄgod?/What is your worst characteristic?
I canât stay put. I think it is very hard to go on holiday with me, especially to a place where you go to relax and chill.
Melyik korban Ă©lnĂ©l szĂvesen?/In which ear would you prefer to live in? MegnĂ©znĂ©m az 1880-1910 Ă©vek EurĂłpĂĄjĂĄt. Nagyon szeretem azokat a mƱvĂ©szeket, akik akkor alkottak, meg Ă©rdekelne mĂ©g EurĂłpa akkor is, mielĆtt a technolĂłgia megvĂĄltoztatott mindent...
I would be excited to see Europe between 1880-1910. I really like those artists who were creating that time, and I would be curious to see Europe before technology changed everything...
Van visszatĂ©rĆ ĂĄlmod? MirĆl szĂłl? Esetleg megjelenĂtetted mĂĄr valamelyik alkotĂĄsodban?/Do you have a reoccurring dream? What is it about? Have you ever realized them in your artwork? Nem nagyon vannak visszatĂ©rĆ ĂĄlmaim.
I donât really have reoccurring dreams.
What is that one artwork you have to do before you die? HĂș... KiĂĄllĂtĂĄs a MOMA-ban Ă©s TATE MODERN-ban.
Hmm⊠Exhibition at MOMA and TATE MODERN.
