BREAKING NEWS: The raging wildfires in Australia are not just destroying people’s homes, they’re also killing countless animals — an estimated 350 koalas are feared dead in New South Wales, Australia, as dozens of bushfires tear through the koala heartland. At least three people were confirmed dead and more than 150 homes destroyed over the past week too. These surviving koalas, which have burns to their hands and feet and singeing up to 90% of their bodies, are being treated at The Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie (visit https://www.koalahospital.org.au to learn more and donate to them!). The fires add to an already serious decline in the koala population, which has suffered because of excessive tree-clearing.
