Kymenlaakson pelastuslaitoksen mukaan ihmiset ovat kuitenkin häirinneet kuuttia. Ihmiset kuvanneet kuuttia, lähestyneet sitä liian läheltä ja jopa vieneet koiria haistelemaan poikasta, pelastuslaitos kertoo. Häirintä on pelastuslaitoksen mukaan todennäköisesti estänyt kuutin emoa palaamasta poikasensa luo. Siksi kuutti on jouduttu siirtämään Korkeasaaren eläinsairaalaan. Villieläinasiantuntijat epäilevät, että ihmisten toiminta on saattanut vaarantaa kuutin selviytymisen luonnossa.

Today I had to say goodbye to my beloved cat, Tina. For the last two weeks she's through a lot. She had got a mastectomy done and seemed to heal well. Her wound was all good, the stitches were removed and she acted like always. Unfortunately today we noticed that her head was tilted to the side. Soon she couldn't get up and stand, she was falling over, then threw up. We immediately took her to the vet, where they told us she had a stroke. There was nothing we could've done to help her. She got euthanized, so she's no longer in pain. But now I am. She was 15 years old. I got her when I was only 7, so she's been with me through most of my life. I don't know how am I gonna cope with this. Goodbye, my lovely girl. You'll always be in my heart ❤️
