Nick Drake "Bryter Layter" LP. This will be the first LP I listen to on the Sprout with my trusty, but ugly as sin Koss Pro 4AA headphones. While I haven't been an active headphone user since my high school days, awhile ago I realized I should have a decent pair of stereo headphones to have available. The reason I mention this is because of the many reviews I've read about the Sprout over the past 2 years, almost all mention how good the thing sounds with headphones. With that said, I figured I'd try my favorite Nick Drake album. It is nicely recorded, has strings on some songs, jazzy tunes, and sparce singer-songwriter compositions as well. Specifically, I was really listening carefully on "One of These Things First", the title track, and my all time favorite Drake song, "Northern Sky". While I can't say it was like hearing the songs again for the first time, I doubt I've ever heard them sound better. So that's pretty cool. The song "Fly" stood out as the most spacious and different sounding than on other mediums I have enjoyed this album on over the years.
