In his Eleventh form, the Time Lord had been fighting against the painful energy of the opened ripple caused by an unknown force to try to reach his daughter, no, their daughter. “Avalyn!!” he called out and even though the energy waves were painful to his very psyche, the Doctor pushed harder “Hold on!!” but he could see it, the fear in her eyes and that tore at his hearts. Which each step closer, pain wracked through his very form, her cries... oh her cries. 

“Ada!! ... P-Papa!!” came her heightened vocals when fear truly kicked in. 

The Doctor’s hearts froze…Papa? It was then, the Doctor could sense him, his husband. No, no he could do this he wouldn’t risk this force taking both of his loves if he could help it and with that the Doctor did what he had to, to be able to push back his pain and move faster. “Avalyn! I’m coming, my angel, just hold on a bit longer!” But he’d been struggling for a while, not to mention was still getting over an illness he’d picked up on a recent trip with his husband. 

Though, before he could make it any further pain wracked through his very core and brought the Doctor to his knees. “Avalyn!!” exclaimed when her screams reached an all-time high. “No!!!” but before his pain floored him, he saw it, his husband racing past, could see the blue rays of electrical energy biting at his husband’s flesh.  “Ko-Koschei!!” but his husband had thrown ‘something’ at the fissure that caused a time freeze to be able to pull Avalyn from the danger. 

With the time freeze, it caused all negative rays to cease, his husband had done it, peace had come to them. Avalyn had immediately clung to her Papa who held her close, reassuring her that they were safe. After being told to check on her Ada, Avalyn gave a nod and with faint limp to her step, neared the Doctor “Ada...” she knelt and hugged onto him as the Doctor had pushed himself to sit up.

It would seem the Doctor wasn’t done worrying as earth green hues were focused fully upon his husband this time. “Stay here.” He voiced to his angel before he pushed himself to feet and headed for his husband “…Koschei...” Something didn’t feel right; his senses were running amok at this point. His husband hadn’t moved from that spot, it was like he couldn’t, like something was holding him down. How? Why? Oh, the questions that ran through his mind as his step hastened. But his husband telling him to stop caused him to freeze, for only a single fragment of a moment. “Don’t do this, Koschei. Come on.” The Doctor held his hand out for his husband and stepped closer. “We’ll be okay, Amoré, trust me.”

Though to his horror, what he’d been wary about happened. The freeze was only temporary for within a matter of seconds an explosion of sorts shattered the time freeze mechanism and the energy was back with such a force. “Noo!! Koschei!!!” the Doctor pushed himself against what felt like an energy field shoving him back and raced for his husband. The electrical bolts tore through his very psyche as a whole, fiercer than before. It didn’t matter, Koschei needed him! This force wasn’t going to keep him away if he could help it. 

The harder the Time Lord pushed, the harsher the pain made its presence known. Agony wracked through the younger Time Lord’s form, but it was rewarded when he finally grabbed hold of his husband. “I’ve got you, Koschei!! I’ve got you!!” Though it would prove that this force was a wretched bitch, for relief was only felt for a single fraction of a moment. For when the energy force pulled harder, the Doctor’s grip was slipping. “Koschei!!” he struggled to keep his grip. That force was not only causing physical torture but was tearing through and scrambling through their psyche, he could only hear fragments of his husband’s mental voice, his words to him. But what he did hear before his husband was yanked from his grasp was ‘Be strong, Theta, don’t let this beat you, remember I love you both’ like the force it was and how quickly it appeared, it was gone and so was his husband.
