🍔 Review № 443 ━ 📍 Zigzag Burger ★★★★☆ • Zigzag Burger first opened on Hökartorget in the Swedish town of Köping during the summer of 2020, and the small, black food wagon has quickly become a favourite among the townsfolk. Their small working area has some limits, but this also means that their menu is nice and short. They had four burgers for sale during our visit, plus regular and sweet potato fries. We ordered their signature burger “Zigzag Original” (with cheese, tomato, lettuce and sauce) and a “Zigzag Cheese Burger” (with cheese, pickles, red onion, ketchup, mustard and mayo). They cost 79 SEK (9 USD) for a single 100-gram patty and 95 SEK (11 USD) for a double burger (200 grams). We also tried a “Helgens” with four 50-gram patties, four slices of cheese, pickles, mustard, ketchup and mayo for 100 SEK (12 USD) plus regular fries for 30 SEK (3.5 USD). • All of their burgers come packaged takeout style, so they didn’t look their absolute best. But it was clear that Zigzag have done their homework; the potato buns were warm and toasty, the patties had a deep and crispy crust and there were plenty of toppings. Due to the small size of the buns, our burgers felt a bit cramped, and practically all of the toppings were crammed into the front half, and the back part just contained bread, beef and cheese. But everything tasted really nice, with distinct flavours, well-balanced ratios and great textures. Their homemade sauce could have tasted a bit more and we would have preferred juicier beef patties, and our favourite burger was their classic cheese burger. Their fries were crispy on the outside and well worth the money. • Zigzag Burger are really good at what they do, and were super happy to see yet another place in Sweden where we can get a really good hamburger.
