Quiet night out in Trout Lake tonight. There were 6 50+ year old guys at the chalet next to us here for a fishing trip and I've been drinking with them the past 3 nights. They just left this morning. These kind of towns are so weird. The nearest grocery store is in Nakusp, which is a 2 hour drive. There's one store in town, and its a liquor store with a payphone out front. There was a bear walking 50 ft from my front door the other night too. Seen 11 different bears so far, 2 moose, and ridiculous amounts of deer. Lots of Canadian Geese up here too, except they only seem to fly in pairs here. Its a pretty isolated place. Don't really understand the concept of living like this. You'd have to be pretty damn okay with being alone.
