The babies...
I've taken some liberties with koopa design, but I wanted them to be a kinda yin and yang of sorts. Uhh tried a new rendering style do you like it :)

I didn't want to upload this, but curiosity got the better of me
Hi

koopas sliding into a box
Wip wip
I think at this point I’m convinced that Bowser is actually the “mother” to all the koopalings + junior and they all have different “fathers”—Bowser is the koopa KING and didn’t marry any of the koopas he made eggs with so HE gets the official title of father himself.
It’s this long running joke that we don’t have an official answer to the question of who the koopalings mom is and all I can think of is the fact that reptiles such as turtles, gators, snakes etc. tend to have larger females than males. (Specifically for the purpose of egg laying)
We also have things like Yoshi and Birdo making eggs despite Yoshi presenting as male and Birdo being a transfem icon…so it seems pretty plausible to me that certain critters in the Mario universe are just naturally hermaphroditic or genderfluid, and therefore the culture surrounding gender is quite a bit different for them than it is for us bipedal apes.

its 2am. i have class at 12 and an unfinished essay. what am i doing instead of that or sleeping? writing a genetic analysis paper on the koopa species. the current hypothesis is that they're a turtle-like species that rapidly evolved an ant-like social structure and hierarchy due to war and/or heavy predation, even seeming to have a sort of hivemind in the way they work. feeling very unhinged rn
