Hot take: Ice Age movies 2 and 3 are the best because it’s Manny allowing himself to find connection and family again; 4 and 5 highlight his stubborn and overprotective nature over Peaches; Sid is iconic (every single line is literally me); Diego is sassy; Ellie, Shira, and Peaches are the best; Crash and Eddie give Ruffnut and Tuffnut vibes. And the MUSIC!!! UGGHH it gives me GOOSEBUMPS!
Unpopular opinion: I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Drago Bludvist is a traumatized, goth, PTSD-riddled grandpa who needs a hug, a talk with Hiccup, and is the living embodiment of why therapy needs to be affordable. His trauma goes SOO DEEEP, and it’s disappointing that he wasn’t in HTTYD3.
^^^ Unpopular opinion #2: Grimmel was an awesome villain and it’s sad that they killed him off (I’ve seen @kingofthewilderwest say that HTTYD should’ve had five movies instead of three). Overall, I think he just needs more love.
Random thought: If HTTYD had five fmovies instead of 3 and the dragons STAYED, we seriously should have seen Hiccup sprinting through town with Toothless yelling “ITS HAPPENING!!!” Just imagine the opening of Ice Age 3 but HTTYD; Astrid is pregnant and Hiccup is losing his mind.Y
