Konstantin had been groomed his entire life to take over the Vorshevsky empire in Russia, which should have been the most prestigious honor that could’ve been bestowed on a Vorshvsky child. In his early years, he spent all of his free time with both parents; his mother bestowing knowledge of fine art and dining, etiquette, and language, whilst his father educated him in business, finance, and politics. Even as a young man, Kosta’s intelligence was unmatched; his desire to learn and excel—to please his parents and bring honor to their family name—something that ran deeper than even Konstantin realized at the time. When he turned sixteen, he was sent to Saint Petersburg to study with his great uncle, ready to expand his education even further and truly embrace Russia and what would be required of him to rule the Vorshevsky empire there when the time was right.
The eldest Vorshevsky made even the most difficult of challenges look like the simplest of tasks. In his teenage years, he was able to charm the toughest of the aristocracy, persuade stubborn donors, and even, on occasion, outsmart event well-educated scholars. The ease with which words flowed from his lips, the effortless ways in which he was able to captivate his audiences, and the proven business successes that he’d been able to produce even before he’d started his college career was something that people took notice of.
Konstantin Vorshevsky, even early on, was a force.
After graduating from the prestigious St. Petersburg University, he set his sight on politics and took over running his great uncle’s business. In the first year of his leadership, the company purchased shares of Gazprom, a company with nearly $144 billion in annual net income. That stock acquisition, along with additional strategic partnerships, grew not only the company’s wealth, but the Vorshevsky family’s as well. By the time Konstantin had turned twenty-seven, the Vorshevsky name was widely known as one of the most influential, elite, and wealthy presences in the region. Putting this leverage to use, the family backed the opposing political party during the election… and won.
It was only a year later that Konstantin met Yelena Lebedeva. Seemingly accidentally, the eldest Vorshevsky was captivated by her timid and quiet nature. He’d grown accustomed to the normality of interactions that contained underlying motives, both of his own accord and those that he interacted with, however Yelena possessed a purity that Konstantin was unsure he’d ever seen in anyone. The normally poised, intelligent businessman transformed in her presence, and the freedom it afforded him was addicting. Although he never lost focus or allowed his ambitions to falter, Yelena became the most important thing in his life.
The two were married after only a few months of dating, and soon after, Konstantin set his sights on campaigning for Parliament—his first true test in politics. With the impact that his family name now carried he seemed unbeatable…and his opponents knew the same. They devised a violent plan to eliminate the eldest Vorshevsky, but when they broke into his residence late that one evening, they hadn’t accounted for a meeting in the politician’s schedule that had kept him longer than anticipated.
When Konstantin finally did arrive home, the scene that he was met with rivalled anything in his worst nightmares. Yelena, his beloved wife and the angelic link that held him to some semblance of normalcy had been slaughtered.
The plethora of resources that he had at his disposal, the countless favours that he’d accrued and the connections that he’d formed had been able to locate the perpetrators within the span of a few days. As each one was identified, they vanished—never to be seen or heard from again. Only Konstantin knew of their fate, the revenge he sought enough to ignite his taste for violence. It was likely that such urges had always been present; he was a Vorshevsky after all. But the newfound taste for blood, coupled with the chilling calculation with which he was able to hunt, kill, and dispose of the murderers without a single trace, gave birth to an entirely new element of the Russian’s personality.
Konstantin Vorshevsky was chosen as a member of the Russian parliament at the next election in 2007. His outspoken critics became fewer and further between. The city quickly realized that crossing him was most certainly a death wish, and Kosta became, in a word, untouchable. He ruled that way for years, far surpassing the expectations that his mentors had set for him even in his wildest dreams.
When the Vorshevsky stronghold in Launceston was taken over by Nicolas and the French, Aleksandr demanded his services to his father to regain what was rightfully theirs. Kosta was less than thrilled with the temporary relocation after only one five year term as a representative, but the prospect of reconnecting with the family that he’d only known from a distance for the majority of his life, as well as furthering the Vorshevsky influence in The United States, was too appealing an idea for him to pass up.
The celebration for his return to Launceston was short-lived; an attack on his twin sister, Larissa, thrusting him into the violent side of the city immediately. Konstantin avenged his sister’s death swiftly—lashing out at the French, and continuing a war with the Italian’s on a grand scale. Konstantin solidified that rumours that had preceded him; he was far worse than Aleksandr ever was.
Konstantin and Alek continued to rule Launceston, both from the United States, and himself, eventually from Russia. The long-standing war between the Russians and Italians continued; lives were lost by both sides, however the eldest son continued to establish himself as the most ruthless and cold-hearted Vorshevsky, even in comparison to a father who had enjoyed a lifetime of bloodthirsty rule. Kosta remained there until the call had come…
His parents had been killed—assassinated--by a car bomb. He’d been on a flight back to Massachusetts that same evening.
It didn’t matter who had executed the killing. Konstantin punished them all.
One by one he extracted them from their illusion of safety, and they vanished: Emily St. Clair, Vito Auditore, Francesca Mancini, and even Kora Kurylenko (whom he had learned was working with the police) all paid the ultimate price. He wreaked havoc on Launceston, the confusion in who’d committed the murders of some of the most prominent members of each of the families fuelling the brilliantly executed plan that he’d devised. He’d gotten revenge for his parents’ deaths, and now he’d force them to turn on each other. But before his plan could come to fruition, his father seemingly returned from the grave; pitiful excuses about being able to cope without his wife all he had to explain himself.
Of course, he was more than content to take credit for all of the work his prodigy had done in his absence, though…
His eldest son was on a flight back to his homeland within an hour of the news reaching him; his time in Launceston coming to an end forever.
Kosta settled back into his life in St. Petersburg gracefully – the empire that he’d perfectly crafted for himself continuing to thrive with his restored presence. The slow demise of his father’s empire in Launceston, as much as it should have bothered Konstantin, brought him joy. Aleksandr was nothing without him. Although the death of his family members he considered deeply unfortunate, it was due to the man they’d chosen to follow.
The Italians increased their efforts at eradicating his family—the Kurylenko line in particular—with brutal tenacity. One by one they fell, and his father was to blame. Consistently picking fights instead of re-establishing his empire. So the Russian made sure to avenge the death of every family member lost—that was, by killing the worst of them all, the most glaring reason for their losses: Aleksandr. The prodigal son crucified his father in the city that he’d ruined beyond all redemption, icy eyes meeting his as the life drained from the older man’s eyes. He would not be fooled again, and Aleksandr’s disgrace would hang over the family no longer…
The true legacy of the Vorshevsky name would be set forth by him, and him alone.
In the years following the murder of his father and his return to St. Petersburg, Konstantin ruled and grew over the empire that he’d so carefully created as successfully as he ever had. He was adamant that his next move be back into government, whether it be Parliament, or something greater. He weighed his options. With political aspirations, however, came the realization that he lacked what many other successful politicians had… a wife, a family. Normality. And for that, Konstantin turned to his long-time associate, Ilya Korshunov. Ilya’s daughter Mila was striking. Their union was never meant to be anything more than a business transaction, and she played along perfectly. He was setting the stage… big things were on the horizon.
He’d always followed along with the happenings in Launceston, then Porto Velho; kept tabs on some of the old associations, just because he could. Konstantin had reached out to Andrew Rutherford personally when he noticed things going south for their family in Porto and offered his assistance, expertise, and manpower in exchange for a piece of their empire in London. Given the amount of ground they were losing in California to both the French and the Italians, it wasn’t as though they could say no.
…and what an empire it will be.

CONNECTIONS:
Arkady Kurylenko: Uncle. Although Arkady carries the Kurylenko name, Kosta has found him endlessly useful in both Launceston and London. His no-nonsense way, as well as his ruthless nature make him the ideal leader when Konstantin can’t be present – together, their enemies are surely in trouble.
Melissa Lin: Acquaintance. Kosta met Melissa during his meeting with Andrew, and he was intrigued by her standing in the organization and her supposed skillset. It was evident to him that the woman brought a unique perspective to the organization, and he’s taken with what insights she could provide, should he prove himself trustworthy.
Laurent St. Pierre: Enemy. Konstantin made it his mission after Larissa’s death to find the person that had killed her, and when he’d learned that the prime suspect was Laurent St. Pierre, he vowed that he’d personally get revenge. With Laurent now running the London operation for the French, it provides the perfect opportunity.
