Perhaps most people held their thoughts locked up deep inside to save the heart break of another -- to save themselves from seeing someone they love fall into tiny pieces at the truth, at seeing a reality that isn't what they ever imagined or dreamed to see come to fruition. Her thoughts never wandered too far, the letter hadn't been anything but a piece of paper until only a hundred years prior when she'd caught him killing someone that had stared too long, that had been whistling at her as she walked by. Then she saw the way he looked at her, the eyes that normally looked only protective at first glance had become laced with tones of passion, possession, love, adoration, and ... confusion.
Had he fallen for her first or was it simultaneous? She never really knew. She knew that they held their tongues about such an idea, though she found it to become a growing difficulty at holding back the truth. Until the day she'd opened the letter... just a week before he -- ... hid away from her sight and their emotions.
Her own guilt hung around her throat much as a noose would. Her lips buzzed, burned, ached -- everything felt heightened as he stood in front of her, boring into the very soul he held so close to his own heart. He was breathing in and out. As was she. But the silence was there. Her heart was beating against her rib cage, desperate for her to speak her mind, yet it was thoughts frozen in this moment that held her back.
"I'm sorry."
"No... don't be."
"I love you."
"I love you too, Revi..."
"Do you regret it?"
His lips pursed at the question, he wasn't going to answer her -- and that alone made her feel pain, the kind of pain that sat in the bottom of your stomach and shot up like an arrow into an apple, deadly accurate. Her breath was held -- .... seconds ticked by. Minutes. Then he spoke.
"I don't know."
Her fingers were resting against her bottom lip, the warmth of his kiss had left it's mark permanently -- ripped away at the indifference in his words. She knew that deep down ... this was her other half. Her soul mate that knew her better than herself, that gave support and watched her fly to others only to come crashing back down to him, to the level earth which he provided her with. He didn't make her feel like a Princess, not a Queen, not anything more or less than exactly what she meant to him... Everything.
Kale raised his hands to her face, cupping the cheeks, his thumbs capturing her tears as they spilled out purely on accident, with no intent to stop. In the next instant he was gathering her up, her legs wrapped around his waist, carrying her with her arms looped, locked about his neck, face hidden away in the junction of his neck and shoulder. He could feel the fingers that gripped onto the fabric of his tank top, he felt every single piece of her, knew each dip and curve and scar and fall and rise of her body.
He knew the way she breathed -- when angry or scared or even sleeping -- he could tell when she faked her rest, when she cried and pouted for something she knew she really didn't need. He had protected her all his life, he had seen her come from his Mother and placed into his hands immediately after, his brothers and sisters around him, cooing over her, but she only opened her lids slightly for him, grasped at his finger and gripped it just as tightly as fingers now gripped to that clothing on his body. It was then he felt himself complete... when he saw those eyes -- the way they held him still, captured a wild animal with ease and curled him about her tiny fingers. Tiny fingers that grew to fit the spaces between his own, the empty places in his soul always filled at the sight of her smile, his muscles twitching in happiness when she called out his name, begging him to come play with her.
Adoration grew... so steadily, as she had -- into something full and beautiful, something that he passed off as simple feelings until that kiss -- until he first saw a boy kiss her, and saw that boy later break her heart. So he broke that boy's neck. His hands could hurt. They could heal. But only healing came to her, to Revi. No other would receive such emotion and notice.
To every song they danced to, every laugh he pulled from those lips -- he saw hope and life and reason to exist. Eventually these things hit a breaking point, the flood starting from the kiss. He could feel her fear, he couldn't bare himself to let her lay down even as they reached the apartment's bedroom, sitting down -- laying back, settling just so on the bed in the middle with her form clinging to his own... and eventually she fell asleep and eased into her rest, trembling once in a while, fingers resuming a grip upon fabric of his clothes every so often.
He was already formulating the plan... in his mind and to his disdain he was already sure the pain he would cause her would hopefully break her of the madness on them both.
Days passed -- only 7 and she lay on the floor, reading from that college textbook, something about birds. Something that recognized her love for the flying they did together at times. Her nose scrunched, he'd appeased her, settled her, calmed her, abated all fears.
"I'll be back. Keep studying. I need to go get some milk." She waved her hand, the kiss wasn't forgotten and she smiled at him, that saccharine smile he would surely miss seeing so close up. He stepped outside, the cool air hitting him, door shut behind him, and he started walking down the street, past their window, hands in his pockets, not noticing that Revi was getting up to look out at him, that she had a letter clutched to her chest.
"I'll just show him when he gets back..."
She nodded confidently and sat down on the floor, the letter at the side of the book, she kept reading ... and reading ..... and reading .... and reading ..... and --
"Something's not right." She stood up, closing the book and putting the letter away safely in their room. She walked outside, it was past midnight and he'd left at 7 PM. The store was around the corner. She'd let the time get away from her and in the process it seemed he'd decided to play hide and seek. Her mind refused to accept or even acknowledge that he might've abandoned her as a possibility.
Her whole body was buzzing at the thought of midnight hide and seek -- she wasn't naive, she was in pure denial as she took off to the skies, flying around in that hawk form, careful to stay out of the sight of anyone that might take notice of a black hawk. The sun pulled into the sky and she returned home, every day -- for the next week -- she searched, doing what was necessary to get ready for the exams... until it dawned upon her.
He wasn't coming back. She shoved the thought aside and hid in the apartment, no exams taken, calls made to ensure her identity was erased and some false death was posted, she vacated the apartment in the night, taking everything home to their Seoul home. Leaving behind America and New York just because it felt stale. She spent the next year, searching every place they'd lived, that year turned into 10. Eventually she would settle -- settle back at home and take on a new identity and assume a new role and try to forget, yet the feathers started to be left and the sensation of his existence and the fact he wasn't actually dead became more and more apparent.
But for so many years -- she felt dead inside and the spaces she felt were whole when he was involved in her life, there with her and not letting her move on and pretend .... were wide. And it hurt to think. So she tried not to. But everything reminded her of him. And he watched over her -- easily and in so much pain himself that he sometimes wished he had died.
And for the longest time.... the only thing she could do was blame herself.

Revi slid the letter onto the bed to lay, resting carefully so he would see it. She walked to the balcony and closed the door behind her, waiting for him to come home and read it.
Dear Revi,
I want you to know how much I and your father love you and Kale. Over the years â your sisters and brothers, the few youâve had between you and him ⌠Have all perished. Gone away to heaven to wait for their souls to be one day possibly reincarnated â maybe. Weâve no real idea except for one reality⌠One that we believe in as WakÄŻĚyÄ . That is that we have soul mates â one true soul that is in tune with our own. Your Father is of course mineâŚ.
But thatâs not all he is. Revi â I donât know why weâve really hidden so much from you and Kale. Nor why we wanted you to never know what you were â like it wouldâve made any difference whatsoever. But know that it was out of loveâŚ
What Iâm going to tell you may sound extreme but it might be beneficial ⌠Your Father is my soul mate and my best friend. Heâs also my brother. Just as you and Kale are blood. Our blood is much like those of the Gods and Goddesses .. We are exempt from having deformed and less than intelligent offspring.
I know this must seem so terrible and out of place in a world that already says being anything but human is wrong. Should you find your soulmate is in Kale⌠Donât deny your heart. Donât. You will regret nothing greater than this.
Kale doesnât need to know this not yet⌠But you should show him â should he feel the same and deny it. Heâs always been head strong but he will listen to reason such as this. It never was a matter to bring up what your Father and I were other than husband and wife and your parents⌠We just wanted you all safe but the thought has occurred now that you could fall and he as well.
You two have been so close and his attachment to you â is normal but your father ⌠He was as protective of me from the time I was born. He was so sweetâŚ
One day we may not be here to tell you both that you are justified and safe to love one another⌠As deeply and as intimately as anyone else. So if you must â keep this letter close and give it to you brother.
Kale â we love you dearly. Forgive us â we werenât the best at parenting it seems. But you two have survived and love will conquer all and break all walls down⌠Do not hesitate to claim Revi. For she is not just your sister â she could also be your soul mate. Donât deny your heart. And do not let her be with another if you know itâs not right⌠Give to her your heart and be proud of whatever you may share.
Character in general: You took a character that I wrote into my bio and you made him your own. You took my vision and I am to this day speechless over what you've done. You made me happy -- I know partly you did this because of your attachment to me. You make Kale his own person while giving me happiness over it.How they play them: THIS IS... where I really am gonna gush. When I wrote Kale into the story I didn't know why he left but part of me hoped when I put him as a plot -- that maybe you might notice and do it without asking. Then I asked you. And you say "why the hell not" and you picked out Doojoon for his face and I screamed a lot because wow you were allowed to pick anyone as I said but DAMN MY HEART. You and I came up with the idea of them really having fallen for each other because of being so close all that time and that's why he left and the way you play him.. when he won't give into her always. When he leaves her to cry over something she shouldn't have brought up -- and he ends up in the bed with her the next morning. The possessiveness over Hyeri and the sole ownership and entitlement that he never wears but will if anyone even looks too long at her. I see Kale as a person that has exploded into something beyond beautiful. You always bring the characters to life and you always manage to make me want to RP all day and night with you. If I had to choose just one person -- I won't lie it'd be you.The Mun: Your mun again -- as I said on the one I did before for you -- is mine. You'll always be mine even if we're both really fucked up and I know you. I know that you hate people as much as I do even if you're nice to their faces and you tolerate them. You literally don't care about many people and even when you interact you don't bond to them. I don't feel like I'm ever going to lose you -- but I take care of our own bond as much as I can and as properly as I can.
Do I:
RP with them: Yes all the time. You're the key to igniting my inspiration as a whole.Want to RP with them: ALWAYS.
What is my;
Overall Opinion: I went on the other one about you but here -- as my Kale -- you are the person that makes me feel warm and happy. With you I'm secure because you see no one else romantically or emotionally. Not like you see me. You always look at me like I'm this beautiful and wonderful girl. Yes I know sometimes it's also as someone that makes mistakes but I do try to learn from them. Our story line is why I came back to RP. I might've wrote the bio up and really wanted to RP but when it came to the doing of that -- it became as stale and hard as before when I've RPed. But then you put your hand out and let me have a chance to really focus on happiness and not worry. I don't feel the need to pressure you to be one place or anything though there are times I am like PLEASE COME HERE AND BE KALE. Or you'll be on AIM and we'll slip IC on and off. You work too much but you are so smart and good lord the fact you keep me close, that you look at me like you do, that you inspire me consistently. That in the past we've had a few ships -- some that spawned because I got attracted to you AGAIN without knowing it was you right away -- the fact you and I are magnetic and you put yourself in my path and wait for me to find you, because you know I do -- and always will -- is exactly why I find peace in RP. I find happiness and not stress or feeling like I must bend myself to fit some standard or belief. When we talk and I gush about you -- you are the sweetest person and get all shy and deny how great you are. But you're amazing. I have a crush on your typist and you know it. Whenever you talk about other people yes you're right I get jealous but it doesn't show because it's dumb for me to. I don't know what it is about you but you're the person that touched me... a year ago on the 16th. The 16th is the one day we have there that we know. I'm sure if I checked our chat logs I'd find the actual date but still -- you've been with me a year. That's like a fucking eon honestly. Yuri's been with me 3 years but you stayed -- this ENTIRE TIME. We never fight except maybe once? And we always manage to agree on the same things as necessary. We don't have too much in common and you've managed to make me smile and want to make you smile. I hope I'm that inspiration for you too sometimes. No matter where we are, what faces we have, you're the person I really feel for and it's not gone away not once. You make me fall for your characters -- over and over -- over half of the time when I don't know it's you. I dunno. I just really care about you and always want you to be with me. Yeah.
Kale vehemently denies deep feelings and attachment to Hyeri --
But most of the time he's thinking -- "Put your clothes on, wear a full sweater, and long pants, and never ever come outside because nobody needs to see all of that -- causeitsmine."
To be frank, when it came to getting Kale to do much of anything, it was a sure thing to see the man avoid it at times. He liked to work -- get things done, yet when it came to certain things, he would be very opposed. She sat on their bed, legs crossed Indian style and bouncing by her bottom and it's rapid flex and release, hands holding the phone in the middle of her lap.
'You can't tell me no.' Her thoughts pressed against his mind, they didn't really need the phones anymore but he was also all about torturing her, making her wait for his poised and timed replies. She felt warmth drench her skull, drip down the back of her skull, cascade against that one spot he scratched to illicit a purr from her. His way of telling her to be patient. The minutes ticked by and she fell back on the bed with a groan, legs and arms splayed out with the cell still held in her right hand.
Bzzzzzzzzzzz.
She rolled onto her stomach, eyeing his reply, nothing unusual at work, just the usual lengthy day. He wanted to know what she wanted so badly. And she attached the picture she'd stumbled upon. It wasn't just any picture. It was their Mother and Father's hands together.
[ TXT : Kale ]
Attachment. It's Mom and Dad's hands.
[ TXT : Kale ]Â
I want to get those on our own wrists.
[ TXT : Kale ]
You can't say no to me this time, Kale.
[ TXT : Kale ]
Don't be a smart ass either. It would mean the world to me if we did. You already have TWO. Please. Please. Please. Please.
Perhaps it was that connection back to the parents that didn't want her to know about her own powers, the ones that cursed Kale for his telling her -- or it could've been that she knew no one else that held a bond to each other and did their very best at keeping their family safe. She knew Kale wasn't fond of their parents. He'd raised her, done everything for her. Even fevers she'd had, people that had touched her and made her feel uncomfortable. Blood was painted on both of their hands. She'd annihilated her fair share of females.
They weren't odd. They just didn't like people to touch what they couldn't understand, what they shouldn't ever fall for. Eternal living creatures that only existed in myths -- moving through every era carefully, knowing if they weren't and were caught then they'd be hunted relentlessly. She was laying there on her stomach, her arms pulling his pillow under her chest, waiting for his answer, and already ready to fight him on it all if he said no.
