Pilira architecture explorations inspired by tolou (nomadic Chinese Hakka compounds) and The Hajj (the required Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca).
How do we learn & name our identities?
How do we map & navigate our territories?
How can a return to healthy kinship relations help us co-create in ways that heal the Earth?
What can data, AI, stories & rituals teach us about genesis & regeneration that has been forgotten?
I used to think about Pilira as a place; now I see it as individual and collective pilgrimages, which mirror each other.
I used to think of Pilira as a collection of cities; now I see it’s a cultural operating system based on symbols and rituals.
It is timeless & always new.
I like the idea of the Refugia as sanctuary nodes rather than cities…bunkers for safety, cultural preservation, waiting out seasons.
More like an oasis; a web of Nomadinx villages. 🌀 A common culture and digital infrastructure connects them all in a holistic global system.
