SongDogās Work: āThe Best of Bad Decisionsā was good. Really good. So good, it fundamentally changed the way I read and interpret comics. SDās art is crude and remains low to no effort, and that was initially a turn off for me. But the writing? The dialogue, the characters, the story? Forced me to contend with the fact that it doesnāt matter if you can draw, so long as you can write; you can make a comic. I now heavily encourage people who donāt think their art is very good to try anyway. It opened the door to me accepting a greater range of art and skill level, like when you find a new food you never thought would expand your palette. This is one of those comics Iām just going to remember for a very long time. SDās subsequent work? Well, they vary from forgettable to totally disappointing. I donāt know if BoBD was a fluke rather than a promise for whatās to come, or SD just doesnāt care to put in the thoughtfulness of character interactions and story progression they did with earlier work, but I do not like any comic after BoBD.
āCity of Treesā by SanjanaIndica: I have not read this comic yet but will add it to the list.
āKomorembiā by SpaceDoe: Oh my god I totally forgot about this comic! But I donāt actually remember much of it beyond finding it charming? Iāll have to reread it.
āWhatās Your Damageā by FrostedCanid: Iām gonna have to go back and read thru this comic again since itās so slow to update I literally canāt remember anything beyond the most recent pages. I like the art, and I kinda like the slice of life, slow flow of the story, but I donāt think I can judge much more due to... not too much having happened yet.
āThe Golden Ruleā by Iparamanos: This is certainly....
Not a style Iāve ever seen used for a TLK fan comic. I have not read it yet. Added to list. āInverted Fangsā by jadecomic: Holy shit I thought that title sounded familiar. This comic was originally a youtube animated series called āWolves of the Mistā until the creators I guess realized animation is a lot of work, and people wonāt dedicate themselves to that shit for free. I remember they briefly tried to make a comic using frames/stills from the animation to keep the project alive, and it looked bad.
So Iām glad to see theyāve wildly improved
Even if it is still a goofy ass concept.
