How friends/family of the couple react
Jasmineās family just absolutely loves Koenma. In their personal opinion, Koenma is the best boyfriend that Jasmine has ever had and after seeing how much he loves and adores her along with how he treats Jasmine with unconditional love and respect, they are really rooting on the two to get married and have children. After spending some time with Jasmineās family, Koenma is basically welcomed in with open arms making him the first of his bloodline to become part of the McAlpin Clan before he and Jasmine do eventually marry. Koenma does form friendships with Jasmineās older sister, Caroline and her husband, Raito and with Jasmineās older brother, Niles (and eventually Miyuki who will marry Niles at one point). Jasmineās father, William does think of the prince as another son (like Raito) even though Koenma is over 700 hundred years old and Jasmineās mother, Janine loves to bake him sweets and thinks of him as another son too. Her grandparents, especially her Grandma Lydia, just adore Koenma too.Ā
When it comes to those like Jorge, he was a little hesitant about the relationship being that Koenma was hurt by other girls in the past being that most of them either just wanted him for his status and power or tried to force themselves on him when they found out about his purity (jokeās on those sluts, he gave it to Jasmine when he felt he was ready ;)). After seeing as how Jasmineās feelings towards Koenma were truly genuine, Jorge eventually warmed up to the idea and Jasmine.Ā
Botan took a liking to Jasmine instantly the moment they met and wanted to get know and befriend her. Ayame, like Jorge, was hesitant to the idea being that she didnāt want to see her boss get hurt but, she warmed up faster than Jorge. did. Despite her and Jasmine not talking much, Ayame does like her and would like to get to know her more.
King Yama is the problematic one. Right off the bat, he hated Jasmine. He calls her every nasty name in the book likeĀ āharlotā,Ā āwhoreā,Ā āslutā, etc. We all know King Yama doesnāt give a crap about Koenma and just uses him as pretty much of a pawn in his dirty games anyway (look at how willing he was to have Koenma executed for standing up for Yusuke) and doesnāt give a shit about Koenmaās happiness and well being. To him, Jasmine can break up with Koenma for all he cares or for her to just drop dead or die in childbirth so he doesnāt have to see or think about her (gag). Plus, he is the cause for the feud between the Spirit World Royal Family and Jasmineās family, the McAlpin Clan.
Team Urameshi is a mixed bag. Jasmine and Kuwabara do get along due to her friendship with Shizuru since she was in high school, though she and Kazuma didnāt actually get to meet face to face until Kuramaās motherās wedding. Speaking of Kurama, he and Jasmine arenāt really friends but, more like acquaintances more than anything due to her throwing him a goodbye party just before he went off to meet with Yomi in Demon World. Because of that, Kurama thinks Jasmine is a nice girl and would like to get to know her as friends (they do eventually after she and Koenma marry). Hiei, well, he doesnāt have an opinion on Jasmine because heās never spoken a single word to her. Heās mostly been in Demon World (due to my fic verse taking place from the end of the Chapter Black Saga/start of the Three KIngs Saga to post series, though the first chapter takes place just before the final round of the Dark Tournament) or just never noticed her when she was around for a short period of time. Yusuke is complicated because the two have a fighting rivalry going on and how currently in my fic verse, Yusuke doesnāt trust Jasmine. He doesnāt trust her for the same reasons Jorge and Ayame didnāt at first. Eventually, Yusuke does come around and he and Jasmine are still fighting rivals but, the two form a mutual respect and understanding towards each other.Ā
Genkai is actually a very positive one. After meeting Jasmine and her parents, Janine and William, Genkai began to form a student/mentor relationship with her and offered to train her, her two siblings and her college friends and roommates/Koenmaās childhood friends, Koashura and Kotennyo, to touch up on their skills and improve their fighting abilites. Whenever Jasmine isnāt in school or getting ready to participate in a tournament, she along with Niles, Caroline, Koashura, and Kotennyo train under Genkai with her mother Janine assisting her, which Genkai has kind of formed a friendship with the middle aged demon hunter. Genkai is all for the relationship between Koenma and Jasmine and is happy to see her longtime friend find love and be happy with it. Seeing Koenma and Jasmine together does occasionally make her wish that her relationship with Toguro worked out.Ā Ā
