but like for real it's so funny being a guy who likes men and also being a kpop fan bc like a good 75% of the groups i listen to only refer to their fem-alligned fans. and like i'm not a dumbass i know even if they WANT to acknowledge their male fans they can't because it's korea. but nothing will ever punch me in the gut harder than when i was watching tbz's 5 year anniversary university thing and sangyeon said smth like "lol it's an all boys school apparently" and the editors put a caption that said "where's deobi?" like i'm RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! and oh my god don't even get me started on enha's web comic. i love enhypen SO much but i could never bring myself to read their webtoon. (probably bc i just hate otomes in general LOL)
but truthfully it just makes me even more grateful for the groups that are allies, like ateez or skz or seventeen, whether they're fully open about it it or not, even xdinary because when they did their "band club promo" videos that were supposed to replicate dating sims, the viewer was completely gender neutral and that made me so happy. and referring to my previous post, i saw a video of a fanboy calling txt cute, and all the other members got all sweet n shy about it and it was adorable. but yeonjun was ECSTATIC. he was blowing kisses and shit and telling him "i love you" (like seriously the MOST aggressive kisses i've ever seen be blown) and it was genuinely one of the sweetest things i've seen from a kpop idol. yeonjun is such an open ally and i love him so much for it.
however i will NEVER forgive rhythm hive for making the cheer mode audience all girls. like i understand it's their primary demographic but i honestly would've rather had a crowd of bald people.
ANYWAY i like ranting so i'll probably do this more often wahoo!!
