kobaba replied to your post āyou know the whole Lucy movie is actually bugging me because Taiwan doesn't get a lot of attention EVER in the media, and I'm hoping that most people who actually goes to watch the movie are going to support Taiwan and read up what the hell is up with us... at least give the nation some sort of recognition...ā
sorry I'm really bad at expressing myself ;w
no it's fine!!! i totally understood :-)
also today i read a yaoi manga called 'bachi bachi'
you know the whole Lucy movie is actually bugging me because Taiwan doesn't get a lot of attention EVER in the media, and I'm hoping that most people who actually goes to watch the movie are going to support Taiwan and read up what the hell is up with us... at least give the nation some sort of recognition...
I totally couldnāt⦠Couldnāt process this at first, because SG doesnāt feature in a lot of movies, but thenā
Yeah, youāre right. While Taiwan should get more name-brand recognition and basically, you know, should just be as well-known as HK/Shanghai (because thatās what Iām assuming people think off when they think of asians that arenāt japanese or koreans) but, somehow
Lucy donāt sit right with me, though. ScarJo is brilliant in her own way but the whole blue eyes white dragon thing absolutely does not sit well with me. For representation, people have been telling us that beggars canāt be choosers but??? Yeah??? SIGH????Ā
Itās like when they decided to set Push (2009) in Hong Kong and decided to use it as a backdrop of grimy fish markets and like, shady side businesses and places where apparently white people (good guys) being chased around by asians (bad asians!!! bAD!!!1) is a totally normal thing.Ā
But in conclusion, while I like ScarJo and the fact that the movie is set in Asia in a place that isnāt usually featured, I donāt think I can stomach the whole white good yellow bad thing quite yet. But by all means, everyone has a different opinion of this!
(Iād personally watch it if I had the time, but Iād still be highly critical of it ngl)
kobaba replied to your photoset:Just showing off my roommate because sheās...
whatās her name?
Actually, there was no name that would stick to her so I ended up calling her Žiurke [zhiurke] which is Lithuanian for rat. But I found a cute way of pronouncing it and it feels kinda natural. She's okay with it and I'm okay too :D
