im two episodes in thru the knuckles series. and oh my god. they butchered wade whipple So Fucking Much
they treat him as a Joke. a punchline, the comedic relief, and it takes up 90% of the show, so much so that its Impossible to take him seriously in the emotional bits. even when he tells knuckles about how his father fucking abandoned him, they treat it as a joke.
his main motivation for the show is treated as a Joke. its an important fucking character trait, and they just put clown shoes on it because wade whipple is the pathetic and weak and stupid and funny character thats slapped to the series as cheap comedy for children.
its hard to take him seriously during emotional beats, impossible to feel gratification at the few times he does well, because at every other turn he's just. a joke. and when it's time to get emotional, when they want to develop his character, it falls flat. its impossible to take seriously because, again, they make jokes about him even then.
they fucking destroyed his character for me already, which is a shame, because i actually liked wade whipple in the movies and wanted to see more of him, but now its just. what the hell are the writers trying to do here.
