          SHE'S NOT ALLOWED TO CHEER FOR HIM. She knows that. He's Eagle Fang. He's the enemy . Miguel chose to leave Cobra Kai, and in doing so, he left her. It's the kind of sting that doesn't go away easily. And yet, she can't make herself hate him. ( Not the way she can hate everyone else. ) He was the only one of them who tried to understand her back then. Who didn't take her friendship for granted. Could anyone blame her for falling for him before? He was a soft spot in a world of cold steel. Things are different now, but, in spite of it all, she wants to cheer for him. He's not fighting against Cobra Kai; maybe it would be okay if she did so quietly. A smile when Sensei Kreese and Sensei Silver have their backs turned. The most subtle way to say ❛ you got this ! ❜ To honor everything they once were.

          Miguel spins in the air, and she believes she's about to witness something fantastic. Eyes alight, wide with wonder. ( There's no shame in getting excited over seeing a kickass maneuver! ) The eagle takes flight, ready to pull off a miracle move.

          Then he crumples . A whimper and a scream merged into one horrible, guttural sound, and suddenly she's back at the school, watching him fall from the balcony again. Everything around her merges together in an indiscernible cacophony of noise and chaos. The only sound that rings clear to Tory is Miguel's gasps and screams. Like the sound of a kicked puppy, an awful, unholy noise that plays on loop. Arms hang limp at her sides, body frozen in place as she can't bring herself to look away. Trapped in her mind between the present and the past. The horror on her face cannot be hidden. Mouth agape with trembling lips, hazel eyes transfixed. What should she do? Should she run to him? Run away from the scene entirely? She realizes that she doesn't know exactly who he is to her anymore. She's treated him like little more than a stranger recently. How could she do that to him? Didn't she care for him once? He's taken to the back, and for the first time in her life, Tory finds herself praying to whatever forces are out there to listen.

elizabeth has never exactly been a quitter. her whole life was built around the presence of a man who’s final act was to quit on his family, so she resolved not to do that. which was why she’d danced on an injury...well it was part of why anyway. she kept dancing. too afraid to stop. and now she was face the possibility of never dancing again. all she could focus on was the pain. even now, on her third pt session, she’s so ready to let that pain swallow her whole.

today she’s stationed near miguel. they’ve not talked even though she’s seen him here before. and of course she knew of him. the whole school did after what happened- what was continuing to happen even now.
