Literal Thinking: Knowledge Gateway Logo
Today we had our first workshop for our Knowledge Gateway identity brief and this particular workshop really helped me to get going on my logo design. One of our tutors Stuart helped specifically with this as he told us to think of the Knowledge Gateway literally and designed a workshop around the words ‘know’, ‘ledge’, ‘gate’ and ‘way’. We were given a certain amount of time (a few minutes) to create four or more drawings/marks to represent each of these words, either being really literal or creative with it dependant on what came into our heads.
We could then use these simple sketches to produce a logo that has more interest than just a basic monogram using the letters ‘KG’ to represent the Knowledge Gateway. This workshop really opened my eyes to more possibilities and will make it much easier when it comes to researching inspiration specific to my ideas.
