Oldie Chinese Diaspora Anon has to be my favorite person on this confession blog. They're always so nice. I hope their dolls never yellow and that their wigs are always perfectly styled and that the outfits they buy never tear.

Hello, Anon, this is your Oldie Chinese Diaspora Anon™️. This is going to be a short and sweet one, I hope. The company you’re looking for can be found here:

Kímdöll is an independent studio that creates hinge-jointed doll with PVC. They are very similar to Imomo and are usually considered to be on par with each other. They do not have an official website, and their main social media is on Weibo. However, they are trying to spread their wings and they joined a doll convention in Shanghai last week. They have, to date, 2 heads and one ¼ body (and 1 full set).

Hello, Anon (and Anon) this is your Oldie Chinese Diaspora Anon™️. Thank you so very much for your very kind words. They mean the world to me. I was introduced to this blog by a friend who is an old-timer. Never have I thought I’d personally become a regular here as well, much less be seen as an educator. I try my best because, just as you are, I love this community and I love this hobby. If you think I can be of help to you, please don’t hesitate. I will respond to the best of my ability. Long queues or not, I am here for you.

Oldie Chinese Diaspora Anon, I know why you remain anonymous and speak so carefully about things. And I just want to say thank you for choosing to educate people despite how scary shit is out there in the world. I wish we could give back to you in some way, but I understand that the need for anonymity is more important. So in lieu of that-- thank you. You are awesome and I hope one day we all live in a kinder world.

I know we say this a lot here but I wanna chime in again. Oldie Chinese Diaspora Anon, you're sincerely the best and I hope one day you make a website, a blog, or something else collating all of this information in one place. You are so informative, well-spoken, and impartial when presenting each post you make, and I think that is one of your strengths as an educator. You're just really cool and I hope your dolls' joints stay nice and tight for years and years to come.

Hello, this is the Oldie Chinese Diaspora Anon™️
Anon here voiced a frustration that I think we all share, from time to time. The commentators have brought up some very important points, but I think it may be important to show you a fuller picture. It’s not just about a concept of freedom, but what it can actually mean.
First of all, to say there are few, or no incidences of fraud in the Chinese BJD community is objectively false. The infamous Baidu BJD Tucao Bar (

) and it’s more updated counterpart on Weixin exist because of three reasons – it’s a place to vent within a community, a place where two sides of a dispute can come together to share their side in a court of public opinion and finally, to call out and expose scammers. The following examples are all in Chinese, of course – but how else to show you what’s really going on unless you actually see for yourself? Now, the extent of what’s considered a “scam” is stretched far and wide, but included are common complaints about how individual indie artists have inconsistent pre-orders (https://tieba.baidu.com/p/8126795911 ), long wait times (http://c.tieba.baidu.com/p/8446099713 ) the quality of the resin from these indie artists are brittle/streaky/full of bubbles (https://tieba.baidu.com/p/7657831519 ), as well as horrid communication with customer service (https://tieba.baidu.com/p/7216544824 ).
Hello, everybody. This is the Oldie Chinese Diaspora Anon™️.
I just want to thank this anon for being so supportive. It’s wonderful to know that what I have written is helpful in the recast conversation. As I’ve said before, there is more than just one way of looking at this issue. It’s morality, sure; but it’s also economics, among other things. And I am really glad that I was able to contribute to this broader conversation.
To this end, I’ve taken this opportunity to list my previous posts. I hope this is helpful to you: (Note: Some of these posts do not have the OCDA™️ identifier. At that time, I didn’t think I would become a regular reader/contributor to this blog. And really, the identifier started as a response to me speaking more directly about the Chinese doll scene. I apologize if any of these came as a surprise to you.)
