vesper expected it.
the death of jiwon’s mother, he had tried multiple times to get her to agree on letting him heal her, even for just a little longer. he knew that jiwon would want that more than anything. he was sure of it and yet she continued to deny him. though his distaste for human, sans his cherished, jiwon’s mother was someone he had grown fond of since their first meeting.
he’ll never understand the thinking of humans, then again, he’s always been born immortal. so there wasn’t much to compare from his life to theirs.
it has been a week now, vesper being far to reluctant in leaving jiwon due to his duties down in the nether, though he entrusted his cherished safety to his fellow demon and brothers. he trusted no one else, of course. even the lower demons he found to be inferior to him. he loved his family that didn’t mean all demons.
his tasks were nearly complete. always getting updates about his cherished, telling his brothers to let jiwon know that he’s nearly done as he strides off after having eliminated the last of the angels who dared to attack the gates as if it wasn’t already heavily guarded to begin with. he steps into the room where his father, hades and persephone all sat at the glass table with the rest of the knights of hell, giving them a wave before he joins the table, though he’s restless, he doesn’t sit down.
“angels have been purged, bastards thought they could get away with it unhinged.” he rolls his eyes. he hated the angels, especially the ones who showed far too much confidence, he wanted the grace to spill from them.
persephone hands him a handkerchief as she points to her face indicating where a stain on vesper’s cheek was spotted. he chuckles, giving a small thank you before using the cloth to wipe off the excess blood and grace. the room goes quiet and vesper tilts his head in confusion before they all turn to him.
“what?” he questions, baffled as he furrows his brows. they all smile at him and it slightly worries him as his brows furrow deeper before rolling his eyes, urging his family to speak. “get on with it.”
'we’ve got everything else covered.’
‘yeah, don’t worry, we’ll call if it gets worse.’
‘... it means go, vesper. jiwon misses you.’
‘and we know you are missing him.’
vesper smiles. he really adores his family.
with a wave and a grateful smile etched along his brims, he strides off, returning to jiwon’s world, leaning against the door as he watches his cherished seemingly pack up his things. he stays there in silence before quietly speaking up not to startling his loved one. “sweetheart, i’m back.”
