Hes 100% deaf, having lost his hearing when he was very young - not due to tragedy but just his body had nerve deterioration in his ear canals around the age of 5 or 6 due to possibly an inherented trait. He can indeed speak since he learned to before he lost his hearing, but isn't super good at it (cuz he cant hear himself) and thus prefers not to most of the time. He primarily communicates via sign language, random noises/wordless vocalizations, body gestures, and writing.

Despite being deaf, he's a deadly force on the battlefield thanks to his many years of formal combat training.. as soon as he became an adult, he started a currently unbroken streak of never being beaten in a duel. No one knows how he does it, and he even surpises himself sometimes. All n' all, he's quite humble about his skill level and achievements.

He is also rather good at playing instruments! (Piano & Harp). he was able to pick up on playing those instruments due to sensing and memorizing their vibrations as he played them (he started playing the harp very early on in his life, while piano was something he only started learning as a teen).

He has no idea who either of his parents are, with the only family he's ever known being a man named Loch Lionheart.. whom was, for a long time, a prominant member of Eme-an. Loch adopted him when he was little - having found Gwaredd all alone deep within the library... He taught him the ways of the blade, the chivalrous morals of a knight, and generally helping him survive in this harsh world until he encountered.

Though in truth even if he is curious as to who sired him and why he was all alone before loch found him (aling with him inly remembering his first name), he doesnt have much desire to actually go out and find them in person - feeling content & fufilled with his life as it is right now. But does generally want to know why they "left" him (or, what he interpreted as them abandoning him). He just wants an answer of any kind, for his own closure. He knows for sure they weren't Eme-an members, as the group would have had records of a pregnant women existing in their group with their existence in the group lining up with how young he was.. but they couldn't find any trace of who his parents were or where he came from. He had no records of his existence.. anywhere. (Just like the seer we play as).

Gwaredd himself is from a noble lineage, but he (and everyone else) is unaware of that fact at this point in time (ive also not yet decided which nation he heils from). Loch eventually left for the path of no return when Gwaredd was a teenager, promising to meet him again one day when their fates crossed. And when they do, he promised that they'd play piano together again just like they did when he was little.

Tidbit: His first name is the orginal Welsh spelling of the name 'Gareth', a name which means "gentle". gwaredd itself is a word that means gentlness/tenderness. It was also the name of one of king arthurs round-table knights who was also said kings' nephew.

Meanwhile his surname is typically a royal or miliraristic nickname to emphasize strength/power/courage of the individual (a king or army general specifically), despite lionheart being mostly known as a negative term nowadays to represent cowardice - its origins were quite positive. it can be had as a proper surname - even if it's a rare to have in our current irl times.

According to legend, the knight Gareth had the nickname "Beaumains" (meaning: "fair hands"), a reference to how he was raised as a kitchen boy/servant/came from low standings, and did a lot of cleaning - with his hands always staying unblemished regardless of all the work he did. Though some claim it means "big handed" and was a way to refer to a man who was 'too generous for his own good'. This is a nickname I see my boy Gwaredd having as well, for similar reasonings.

His height is also currently undecided, but he's probably not super super tall or anything like my other ocs. Probably just 6'0", which would be seen as short compared to many of my other ocs. Lol
