One of the things that really sings to me about Murderbot is how willing it is to use itself up to protect its people. Sure, Murderbot can be repaired, but it doesn’t actually matter how unlikely it is that repairs are available - Murderbot is still going to throw itself in between threat and its people.
“Sending SecUnits after me was one thing. But they sent SecUnits after my client. No one gets to walk away from that.”
-Exit Strategy
Something about that really speak to me, about the desire to put one’s body in between danger and loved ones, to be chewed up and spat out in service.
