The House of Blue Leaves
So despite the fact that I didn't sleep last night and spent the majority of my day as a literal numb shell, the cast list went up at 2pm to reveal that I got the lead female part in the first show of the season, The House of Blue Leaves.
I am Bananas Shaughnessy. The schizophrenic wife of a zookeeper who is aspiring musician. I think I won the part over during call back's call backs... but it was still very unexpected when the list went up. I expected Bunny, the bitchy girlfriend of Bananas' husband. Or even the movie star who visits in Act II.
But Bananas.
I feel this is going to be like Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got the Will in that I will have a mental breakdown every night on stage. That show took SO much out of me. But I'm excited to have this challenge... and something to focus on besides my personal life.
