カワサキは6月3日、国土交通省に対してリコールの届け出を行なった。対象となるのはKLX230とKLX230Sで、不具合が発生したのは制動装置（ブレーキディスク）。不具合は前輪の制動装置において、組立時の部品管理が不十分なため、寸法の異なるブレーキディスクが組付けられているおそれがある。その場合、協定規則第78号の技術的な要件（制動装置試験の基準）に適合せず、安全に減速できないおそれがあるとしている。
