Kluay gets in his shower, and even before Achi can think of doing something — anything, really — to shoo him away, slender fingers are massaging small circles on his scalp and temples. He suddenly doesn’t feel like fighting anymore.

“Your timing was off today,” Kluay murmurs, so close to his ear it’s almost unbearable. Achi feels his soapy hands rub his shoulders clean, and he hates just how much Kluay’s touch soothes him at this point. No matter how angry or irritated he is.

They definitely shouldn’t be doing this. He’s his coach, after all. They’re still on school grounds. Some part of Achi — the stupidest one, that’s for sure — really struggles to give a damn. He knows it’s all wrong, so why does it feel so right?

“Oh, yeah?” he asks, his voice barely there, stretching against Kluay’s body like a lazy cat.

“Yeah,” Kluay smiles, his face softening. “Hom almost beat you.”

Achi’s eyes roll into their sockets so fast he feels sick for a minute. “As if.”

Waterboyy is a series that is a bid of a mixed bag for me. As much as I like many parts of it (especially Waii and Apo and sexy Coach Thir), the biggest problem is the question as to whether the writers knew in which direction the series was to go. I am still not sure whether Pan was in a relationship with that glasses guy in the end, Minh seemed a bit unnecessary and no idea whether Kluay and Achi were meant to be a couple all along or just bromance. I mean tons of behavior of what Kluay had points towards a gay couple, but why does Achi go along with it and sometimes it seemed nothing like that at the end, until the actual show’s end where Achi is referred to as a potential boyfriend of Kluay. With Waii and Apo it was really only a matter of time, as the sexual tension between the two is just too strong, but Kluay and Achi, it just seemed weird.

It was an enjoyable show and some episodes I saw more than one, but it really seemed as if the show lacked direction sometimes.
