Daud sighs and straightens in his chair, feeling the muscles in his back protest after long minutes in the same position. Even here, having a simple coffee, he can’t stop himself from watching people, profiling, studying them.
It’s for this precise reason that he notices that there are no longer any seats available in the café by the time the blond stranger receives his drink - except, of course, for the one opposite Daud himself. Something vaguely like panic sets in. He does his best to make it seem like he’s waiting for someone, but the effort is futile. The scarlet-cloaked assassin has the cold, closed-off appearance of a man who’s never rendezvoused in a coffee shop with anyone.
He assembles his face into an even more cantankerous scowl as he sees the man approach. With any luck, he'll walk right past and continue outside and drink the damn coffee standing up.
Then again, Daud has never been particularly lucky.
