                        𝐎𝐂𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓 𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐃𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐑,  back  leaned  against  the  cold  wall  when  eyes  found  the  beauty  the  other  carried  with  her,  a  smile  on  lips  and  hands  raised  to  welcome  the  goddess.  the  news  travel  fast  even  more  when  they  so  did  in  the  LIPS  OF  SO  JEALOUS  PEOPLE.  he  had  not  find  his  way  to  her  to,  as  everyone  else,  make  fun  of  her,  he  had  found  his  way  there  to  see  if  she  needed  anything.  deep  blue  eyes  so  similar  to  the  ocean  had  never  been  able  to  deny  the  beauty  of  the  other,  a  beauty  that  had  WARMED  HIS  HEART  even  in  long  cold  night  at  sea.  but  he  feared,  all  he  could  ever  had,  was  the  sight  of  her  beauty  and  nothing  more.            ‘   hello  love.   ’            words  most  wishpered  when  she  was  closed  enough  and  eyes  were  raised  to  find  her  once  more.  a  soft  bright  smile  danced  upon  lips.            ❛❛   i  will  be  around  for  a  few  days  and  i  thought  we  could  go  out  for  a  drink  AEY ?   ❜❜

WORDS ESCAPED THE VALKYRIE – on the fluttering wings of whatever wildly flapping thing suddenly lodged itself in the back of her throat, its trembling pulse matching the racing strum of her heart. Such sentiment was - FORBIDDEN & the two standing face to face here & now - goddesses from opposite ends of Midgard’s pantheons - was just as illicit. They were the essence of two worlds colliding ; warrior & lover, sea foam meeting the rocky shore, death yearning for life - ! & yet they found each other time & again, over decades & centuries, across continents & battle fields — for breathless meetings, never enough to satisfy, long enough to leave the demi - goddess … smoldering in desire & shame, lust & – an urge to forsake her duty for something – impossible...

The Valkyrie smiled softly - lips moving as words formed themselves on a hushed tone, her sword still heavy in her hand, muscles taut &  - weary. “ I would never ask you to so SOIL yourself, my queen – ” 

A MUSCLE JUMPED ALONG THE SHARP EDGE OF HER JAW AS TEETH CLENCHED – it was an UNDER - STATEMENT that grated uncomfortably against old, half - healed wounds. The goddess was an old … friend from another parthenon & yet she was still worshipped, still seen as – holy even as worlds burned & from its ashes came … a new world ; one that was sterile & cold & one that —- was all that the Valkyrie & her people had left. 

To see Aphrodite on this new world, this changed Midgard was as -- JARRING as it was familiar. Hands twisted into fists as she studied the goddess - her gaze as harsh as it was … a smoldering kind of exaltation. 

“ What was … that - that was a fever dream - a falsehood. This is REALITY, ” the demi - goddess tore her gaze from the other to throw it instead across the roiling sea & dry fields of a world that was once truly … Eden. But now —- brows furrowed, “ This is the truth we deserve. ”

in all the world,  violent men are the easiest to deal with.  thomas had been told this once,   had understood it as a matter of principle   ;   violence beget violence,   as a pacifist was wont to say,  and he -- who wanted to give a pacifist  nothing -- would at least give them that .  he was a violent man,   raised by violent men,   who had been raised by violent men themselves,   and so to think of love and violence as one was nothing.  it was intertwined,  forever,   as one could only lead to the other when you were cut from his cloth .  it was why,   he had reasoned,   it was best to stay out of the business entirely,   and he clenched his jaw at her,   indignant,   knowing her to be right and knowing, too, he’d never quite done enough to stop it .

it was foolish,   of course,   to have a weakness . all one needed to do was find that, and then what became of a violent man after that ? 

ashes,  bones,   dust .  he knew that well enough . 

❝    that so ?  ❞   he asked,  accent thick, tone dismissive,  though he wasn’t daft .  he wasn’t thick .  he just could not,   as he decided long ago,   be frightened anymore .   you will always fall in love.  he lit a cigarette and took a drag. he had loved,  as stupid as that was . and it will always be like having your throat cut .  it had been .   just that fast .

she appears effortless    ,    as effortless as not even gods can be    :    a perfectly tailored beauty accustomed to anything she could surround herself with    ,    she could be surrounded with .   the earth hums around her    ,    pitch-perfect harmony to accompany her presence    ,     and the sunlight filters through gold-white hair like summer days sink into clear waves    ;    truly a storybook queen in appearance .   (   no    ,    probably better .   )   he watches her with the same sort of attention he pays to a foreigner crossing a boarder   ,    a bold thief lifting a painting off its hinges or cutting it out of a frame     ,     a lucky traveler searching for coins on the road    :     with interest    ,    with silver-lined attention that still feels easy to him .   there are no hardships here    ,     and he laughs out loud when she speaks .  wings move along with it    ,    feathers shaking with the way his body leans into the motion   ,    his chest happily rising and sinking with the mirth coming loose inside of him and finding air after passing his teeth .  it is a real and bright thing    ,     all the lively and burning joy of the traveler coming out of him .   like clouds moving forward and only leaving a clear blue sky behind them    ,    the air moving through a late summer day with the possibility of fall still far away from them .  not too heavy    ,     but pleasant in tempo and sight .   this is how he lives!    she catches him in his best moods    ,    crossed paths only adding to it .
