Voluminous lashes fluttered over enervated eyes as they followed the steady strokes of the black marker, recreating the seated outline of the man in front of them. Before they had started, they burned his image into their mind. They found it easier that way. They didnāt have to continuously look up from their paper, risking losing track of their lines.
They heard his question. They did, but they held off satisfying his curiosity and answering the question so they could finish off the tracing of his figure.
āI donāt think itās been that long. Iām sorry, has it felt long to you? Iām almost done.ā Eyes look up from their piece in progress, a type of sudden warmth emitting from their gaze as they had began to smile at him reassuringly.
āI think all I needed was your outline. Would you like to come and see me finish? Which do you like better, the ocean or the galaxy?ā
They had several ideas for the finished product, but they thought, why not get his input if heās who Iām drawing?
